All over

It is aschas been said really their choice to do so snd hsppens all the time. Don't take it as a reflection of anything you have done at all. On a wider note, please remember that behaviour norms of interacting and communicating with others are almost abandoned on here and can be hard for those who expect those social norms they adhere to in daily life to carry on here too. It's not everyone of course but some do believe in 'I am entitled to do as I please at all times' including berrating people in forums, especially new ones on here who have yet to adjust to fab norms. On the other hand, remember there are also lots of great people too on here that will normally think before they speak or act.

People block for all sorts of reasons and you won't necessarily have done anything "wrong". For many it's just another filtering tool and they block pre-emptively simply because they're not interested in meeting you or having interactions with you. It's not personal, you just don't fit with what they're looking for.

Concentrate on those who are a good fit and stress less about those who aren't

Anything that helps you to your energy on people who you match with, is to be welcomed. Blocks make it really easy that you need to put your attention on to others.

You will not be mutually compatible with most people. Move on to those who you may be

"Some one has put me on a block list very annoying when I havent done anything "

On our old account, we blocked all single males within a certain distance. This is because they were too close to home. They may have done nothing wrong, they may not have even interacted with us, but there was no other way to exclude them from our searches.

As mentioned above, this works to your benefit, because you know you aren't compatible with the other profile.

If it helps, we actively encourage other profiles to block us, when they consider us incompatible. Once you realise it's not necessarily a negative, it's quite useful.

I block lots of profiles for various reasons and that includes profiles I've come across that I don't want to risk contact from because often in the long run it saves time or getting the abusive/irate/snarky replies when you politely say sorry not my type

Blocking those who are of no interest for whatever reason helps the finding of the needle in the haystack

The block feature is there to allow people to choose who can and can not message them - just as filters are.

You don't necessarily have to have 'done' anything to be blocked.

If someone has decided, upon looking at your profile, that you are not suitable for them, they may block you to prevent you from messaging them.

Honestly, some people take things so personally on here

Many will block, not necessarily as punishment to behaviour, often to avoid messages, for is they've already decided there's no interest.

It's a way to minimise unnecessary communication.

Don't worry about it.

Find your tribe, don't focus on those that aren't.

Why would that mean you can't trust them. And why are you expecting to trust strangers on the internet anyway?

But they (the women on here, that is) have a reason. You just don't know what it is.

Sometimes block not to prevent messages but to stop somebody showing up in update feed. This could be for various reasons - eg, they keep posting drivel, pic spam, don't meet their criteria so would rather not see them posting about meets etc., definitely not for me/us, etc.

I was always puzzled when I got blocked for no apparent reason. For example, someone would send me a message expressing interest and when I went to reply I was blocked! But as people have said, sometimes it's just used as filter if you get a lot of messages.

It's relatable, though we prefer 'notes' to a block, usually.

People are rarely blocked for no reason. You might not know the reason but there will be one.

I've blocked people I haven't spoken to. People who have posted status regarding drugs or other things I don't really want to be involved in. People who've posted in the forums and I know from what I've read I wouldn't want to interact with them.

I'm sure I'm on other people's block lists but that's cool too. The block button on each account is for the perogative of the account holder.

I apologise for doing this - but I block when people either don't reply to my message, or reply with a "not interested".

Many profiles suggest "don't bombard with messages when I don't reply or say no."

I use the block function (believe it or not) to be polite and adhere to the person's request.

In my case - it is NOT meant to offend!

However; As a straight guy - I have blocked one profile from a guy who suggested he would like to "Have his way with me" after getting me intoxicated or high on something!

There’s always a reason why someone blocks. It could be something tiny or insignificant but it’s just the way it is. I’ve got hundreds of people on my block list, it could even be in the thousands… I wouldn’t have a clue.

Reasons I block:

• They repeatedly message (sometimes even just a for a second time and I’ll hit the block button)

• They’ve sent me a dick pic

• They’ve sent me a dirty message

• If I’m certain I would never be interested in meeting them and I don’t want them to be able to contact me

• I don’t want them to be able to view my pictures

• Their picture/s knock me sick

• Their message has knocked me sick

• They’ve sent a message asking to ‘meet tonight’

• They’ve sent a rude or abusive message

• They’ve offered money

• They’ve said something in a forum thread that’s pissed me off or I find offensive

• They mention something in their bio that I have a strong dislike for

• They sound like a arsehole

Probably loads more reasons but that’ll do for now

I’m the same; no point reading updates or looking at pretty pics of people you are never going to meet. Blocking profiles you don’t match with (for whatever reason), cuts the wheat from the chaff, and means you can concentrate on genuine, potential matches.

I also have a couples profile on here, well me and my FB to be precise but we've started blocking folk for sending random friends invites, obviously desperate attempts to see our friends only photos. Instant block however we did get a rather abusive message sent to us telling we are wrong to block these people and it's folk like us who are spoiling the site. I was going to reply but ironically the coward had blocked us.

We also got another abusive message from a 60 year old going crazy because we have age limits set. Saying he should just go kill himself because we are telling him his life is over apparently.

Been on here for years as a single male profile but honestly our couples profile is an eye opener at times. No wonder men get a bad name and blocked on here.

I block people if I see indicators that talking to them would just be a waste of both of our time.

I've already decided its a no, why have to go through the same process again when they get in touch after I've forgotten they exist?

Welcome to the Cpls world. In all honestly ( this is the hubby BTW.)

Most single men are respectful & just drop a cheeky nice profile msg. That's fine an they normally receive a polite thumbs up or a quick thank you from Claire

HOWEVER!!!!!

The dick pics that seem to be most prevalent on here receive the customary block.

End of the day!!

If they can't be arsed to read a profile.........

Had the same. He was unfortunate enough to find me on the end of the message.

Told him I had no argument with his suggestion.

This I completely respect, I'm far from wanting to waste anyone's time. I enjoy a lack of bullshit and to the point.

What I'm learning from my inherent lack of veris here though is that you sort of need someone to take a punt on you first and then you're "in" so to speak, which can become a little tiring lol

From a woman's point of view, we get bombarded with messeges, alot of the time you don't just get one messege off someone, you get several, if you have decided they are not your type it's easier to block to save them messaging repeatedly, or getting abuse by telling that they are not your type. If only you could see this site from the lens of a woman would you understand why.

"Some one has put me on a block list very annoying when I havent done anything "

How is it annoying? It's entirely up to anyone who the choose to connect with, or not. We use the block button to hide people who don't interest us to save any time wasting, it's not just about someone else 'doing something'. I wouldn't worry about it, just forget about it and move on

Get to a club or social to get some in person veris if you think that stands in your way.

I've been blocked by quite a few couples, many of whom I've had no interaction with at all. I can only assume that they've looked at my profile, seen that I've been honest about married with permission and decided I'm not for them. No problems for me, plenty of other friends to chat with on here.

Personally, if a person forgets they've been politely turned down. Then try again another time, I block them. I don't like having the same conversation over and over again. It's happened a few times

If you are 100% honest, then you can be sure that you have been blocked for the right reasons. It's great news

It comes to the point you have to question the mentality of some. When your status says random friends invites will be deleted and blocked yet still they come you have ask what is wrong with these people. Read the damn profile, read the status update and ask yourself am I really what they are looking for? Don't then go accusing them if being timewasters because they aren't meeting for your instashag after half a message

Totally agree… my profile states clear as day what will get them blocked and they still don’t pay any attention. Maybes some people see it as a challenge how many blocks they can get in one day?

Same for us too, on our status it says please read our profile before messaging, profile quite clearly states what will get people blocked….. yet I still block multiple people everyday….. mind boggling!!

That's the problem, as soon as you reply to say no thanks, immediately that's a conversation. There way to excited to get a response.

By the way, I've just blocked you for my own reasons. Have a great day now.
