After saying 'no thanks' to someone and their response is 'Your loss', how many nights sleep do you lose worrying about just how big a loss it might be?

Lol none at all. We had a couple recently who tried to see our face pics before sending theirs (as usual). We managed to get them to send theirs first but they were not for us and we politely told them so. STILL they demanded to see ours as it would be rude of us not too !?!?, so we had to block them. They then created another profile to attack us again so blocked that one too !!

Oh my, that's quite worrying that they've gone to that trouble to get to you. Sounds like you dodged a bullet there.

It's best not to reply rather send "no thanks", less chance of a follow up message which could even be abusive.

We do delete most of the messages we get. The ones that make a bit of an effort and send a face pic we try and reply to. Most are quite polite.

Oh, all of them.

That I missed out on one of the endless sea of unwanted noodles has kept me awake at night for years. Every additional one just makes every night harder, for sure.

The shame of it all.

I’m sensing a touch of sarcasm in your reply…

Not many. You win some, you lose some. We prefer to concentrate on enjoying the things we actually do rather than the things we didn't (that chances are were rubbish anyways).

Used to be 1001 nights. Nowadays I just quickly send back an apologetic message and admit how ungrateful I was.

I've got a feeling that this entire thread is drenched in sarcasm.

Not even a nanosecond.

If you don’t fancy them then it’s certainly not a loss!

If someone has that opinion they weren't worth having to lose to start with. We do find it mildly amusing when profiles that have totally ignored messages from our individual profiles yet post status about not being able to find anyone real

It's one of the sayings that makes no sense whatsoever, how can not having something that you never wanted be your loss if you never wanted it? It infuriates me

I've always replied to a rejection message by thanking them for letting me know and wishing them good luck.

Being nice to others makes us feel happy, being angry makes us feel bad. Why make yourself feel bad?

...and once, a very nice couple who'd rejected me remembered my politeness and messaged me the following week

Only had it once.

All it did was affirm it really wasn’t our loss, and we slept easier for it

none because you can’t miss out on something you never had in the first place .

I've had couples message out of the blue to tell me I'm too old and too straight to be successful here and they kindly provide me with a list of instructions that I must carry out before they will consider adding me to their to-do list.

When I decline their tempting offer I've been told it's my loss and they often throw in a little "do you not know who we are and who we have fucked?" as a way of making me feel even worse for rejecting them.

All combined I must have lost at least 30 seconds of sleep.

Absolutely none.

If anything, a comment like that just goes to prove that I've made the right decision and probably dodged a bullet as it demonstrates a massive sense of entitlement, arrogance and self-importance
