So after some research we’ve become members at Vanilla Alternative looking to experience our first night there at some point in the near future. Anyone got any advice for club first timers and what’s a good night to go?!?

Enjoy yourself and don’t set expectations too high! VA is a really nice Club with a great variety of areas to wander round. Try to talk with a mix of people, don’t just jump into play (unless that’s what you want) and only do what you’re comfortable with. Maybe set up a meet and reach out to people who are going to have someone to talk to or ‘meet’

We found VA to be one of the best places to go, so hope you have a great time

Thank you! We have a single guy that we are hoping to be able to take with us as he wants to try a club too so at least we have someone to talk to to start with!

The Big Smoke, London.

You will be surprised how relaxed it all is , the hard part are the nerves before you go,but once inside they go.

Enjoy x

We did this once and it was a disaster.

Really clingy guy, didn’t want to talk with anyone else and got the hump when we started chatting with other guys.

Hope your experience is better and you have a great night

We’ve become pretty good friends and I think he’s keen to explore himself so hopefully we can just be moral support for each other. We are nervous but think it’s just the old comfort zone thing!

Single men are only allowed at VA on Fridays, as far as I'm aware. Also, in my personal opinion, VA is not the best club for newbies as it can be very intense due to not having private lockable rooms and all the play being in the open area (or couples only room). You may choose to just stay at the bar or on the dance floor though, and just socialize on your first night. Or maybe you are exhibitionists or voyeurs and the lack of private lockable rooms at VA would be to your advantage.

I think it's best just to take yourself so much more you have to think about when you add another person!

Va was our 1st club visit too. It's a realy nice club. Good atmosphere, music and facilites etc.

But as a 1st timer, it is very in your face. No private rooms and by 11pm lots of action everywhere apart from at the bar and dancefloor.

I was very nervous too. But all was fine. We played as a couple, enjoyed the hot tub and just watching others from a distance.

Seconed visit had a bit of soft swap.

I agree that taking someone with you on your 1st visit could be an issue. But who knows. You know them best.

Tips, Saturdays tend to be couples and single ladys night.

Newbie night is quieter and the couple who run it are lovely.

Bi night very popular from what I gather..

Make sure to pack towels, lube, condoms and air bands if you have long hair.

Everyone is being very helpful thank you! We aren’t sure if we will play with anyone else on our first visit, want to chat with people and maybe play together if we feel comfortable enough

Best way. Go with no expectations other than to play with each other. That was our approach too.

And use the social time. When you're ready to invite someone to join you (or ask if you can join someone else), it's so much easier if it's someone you've spoken with before. They're real people then

I think if you've all been on the scene for a while then that's fine. I would have found bringing someone else as newbies ourselves a bit too much but you know best what you are all looking for.

As others have said go with no expectations and then you'll be fine.

Had our first club visit last week. We over thought and over planned everything. We spoke about what felt like 100’s of scenarios to know what we were and weren’t ok with. Turns out we probably worried about nothing and just enjoyed the night. It wasn’t the overwhelming experience we thought it was going to be! Enjoy is all we can say

Do your research on the club your visiting prior. Every club is different, not just in terms of vibe but also in terms of practical considerations. The more your prepared for in terms of what to expect/bring the less you have to worry about (because first times are nerve-wracking enough without worrying about the little things). For example what's the dress, is it cash or card only, where to park, what ID do we need, do we to bring our own towels and so on. Last thing you want is to turn up and not have the right things.

The forums are great for information. There is also the club website. But most importantly if you need any information prior just call the club and get the information from the horses mouth.

Also make sure you get a club tour. It's more than just getting shown around. It's an opportunity to gleam great tips and information from the staff. Sometimes they will also help introduce you to people they think will help make you feel at home.

But the main think is simply to just go and do it. We have seen many couples in clubs on their first time and the vast majority have a great time and never look back.

Enjoy

We love VA, it’s become our regular place after our first visit in February.

First visit we just rocked up on our own. We met another newbie couple when we had our club tour at the beginning of the night. Luckily we got on and spent all evening with them.

Next time we arranged to meet some couples from Fab in the club. Just kept an eye on status updates the week before and dropped a message. We find this works, nice easy way to meet people and say hi, no obligation.

Other than, just embrace it, agree on your rules and boundaries in advance and have an amazing time

xx
