the vicinity of Betelgeuse

Get the home testing kits, much easier and more convenient then going to ICASH especially as evening/weekend appointments can be hard to get if you work full time

Postal kit coverage massively differs by area. I’m lucky - postal kit every three months. Super-convenient, if a bit grim getting enough blood out of your finger.

It massively depends on your NHS area and how the testing is funded. Go to your GPs website and there should be a link to tell you how testing is done. It may be that in your area the over 24s need to turn up in person, which is a bit crap!

Outside Nottingham

Google SH 24 they send a brilliant kit out and results are really quick, we used to go clinics but this is so convenient we'd always do it at home now and just stick it in a post box, you even do your own bloods which I must admit is not pleasant but needs must

In Wales google friskywales, it's free and no age limits. Swabs for penis, vagina, throat and anus to test for syphilis gonorrhoeaand chlamydia. Bloods test for hiv, hep b and hep c.

Send it back and results back within a few days.

The Secual Health Clini wont give you results you have to wait a month and if you haven't heard anything you assume you're clear.

I live in Northamptonshire and seems to be behind the times and need to attend a clinic of you're over 24. They wonder why people don't get checked So will do what I done before, and use a friend's address who are in an area where they send them out. But why does it need to be so bloody awkward!

Crazy isn’t it, it should be made the norm along with free condoms, tampons and prescriptions which are free In Wales but not a cross the borders

Home test kit which I collect from the local clinic. It said on the SH24 site I couldn't get a free test, but from the clinic I can, they can post them out too.

Easy to do, quick results that you can check online. Far better than going into clinic as you wait ages and only hear back if positive, I prefer to know either way.

If you do the finger prick be warned some bleed more than others!

Just use a friends address , they tend to cover city not county council post codes. But also you might find the testing on SH24 isn’t enough to check for everything and need separate paid ones as well

The local clinics, which includes having Doctor appointments there, which are very helpful when needed. They can prescribe meds on the spot too, including for infection prevention, prophylactic treatments.

It's great to get to know the staff, who are phenomenal

Appointments re-booked weeks and months in advance are really easy and helpful, plus you get reminders.
