We know of a couple of socials/meets in London that specialise in rope and welcome newbies.

There must be similar available near you-you'll find details of such meets on more specialised sites.

Just be aware you'll be unlikely to turn up somewhere and find a willing rope bunny straight away. As there are dangers in rope play, the bunny needs to trust you'll know what to do it there's a sudden slippage or tightening.

Good to hear you've learnt lesson one... safety first!!!

The meets are definitely the best place to try-ladies are unlikely to come meet one on one to be tied as they'll be considering their own safety (i.e. not wanting to be tied in case they've met up with a psychotic axe wielding murderer-not saying you're one!).

Peer Rope and Bound are the ones I know of in London-check them out and see if they're a nationwide thing.

Come on, give them a break, I thought they were being helpful. If you want to learn about something that really is involved and takes effort to perfect, there are more suitable sites out there than this one which covers such a wide spectrum.

Better to go to the niche sites straight away than wasting time looking on here for someone who will almost certainly point him in the direction of IC/FL/BBB Shibari workshops etc anyway.

FACT IS:we found our "ropemasters" on Fab!!

After a few month swinging wanted to explore the Dom/sub,bondage world and found excellent teachers on here.Only AFTER a few month of learning did we also joined the fetish site.Thats were we find events etc and also many more open minded ppl.

FP is a nightmare to navigate around. But it is designed as a kinky facebook. using it to keep in touch with people that we go to events and clubs with it is a fantastic resource. For random hook ups it's far less suited.

These days I do more rope than swinging. Just seems to be that way. However, I can confirm the two mix very well.

I'm happy to assist anyone who wants to either learn how to tie or get tied. Including south paws as I am one. Most resources are aimed at right handers, I mix both eastern and western styles these days and can supply examples of the work I do. I am not allowed to post them here as I have a singles account. Please note that is not a pop at the admin it's just a fact. I do get lots of people asking why I have no bondage pics on my profile.

Anyone who wants to do suspension needs to practice. I will not suspend anyone until I have worked with them extensively. Shibari is not just pretty it was used by the Samurai as a method of restraint and torture. Suspension hurts, as the models body weight is held by what is a total width of 72mm of rope in a basic TK harness with 4 other lines and that would be a kind tie. Going down to just 24mm width of rope takes a very high pain threshold.

Also please remember it is very easy to cause nerve damage which can lead to paralysis. So please be careful and do not try to run before mastering the art of walking.

I have to jump to FLs defence, I have met as many kinksters on FL as fab, you just use it differently, you dont search for people you join groups and interact a bit, or just read what others are saying, click on the profile and if you like what it says, message them, like a pic, leave a comment. Its great you can see their kink list too

Suspension hurts, as the models body weight is held by what is a total width of 72mm of rope in a basic TK harness with 4 other lines and that would be a kind tie. Going down to just 24mm width of rope takes a very high pain threshold.

Also please remember it is very easy to cause nerve damage which can lead to paralysis. So please be careful and do not try to run before mastering the art of walking. "

I think the problem with this post is that about 50% is correct. If I could just amend slightly.
