What's people's genuine views on colonics? I'm thinking of having one but am unsure...

Very interested in all aspects of the whole process. If anyone has any info...

And I'm already expecting "it's a load of shite mate"....

Do it based on knowledge, if you're going to do it at all. Research and learn from medical sources.

The body is able to cleanse itself, so I'm uncertain why you'd want to try something that doesn't have sound evidence of needs or benefits.

Consider adjusting your diet, should you have issues with digestion, or taking a dump.

Personal choice but not sure about benefits. Weight loss - well yes, you’ll lose whatever is in your colon but it will refill in a couple of days. And toxins - well, yes, but they’re in a “safe place” and, again, will reaccumulate.

But it’s not my body - up to you!!

Toxins and weight loss?? This is nonsense. Your body is quite capable of excreting without help so unless it's a kink thing don't do it!

It’s not a kink thing. You obviously don’t know anything about the good things it can do

Much appreciate all the comments. Very helpful to have such varied views.

I'll do further research and go from there.

I've no issues health wise, and I'm definitely regular, it was more about seeing if my body is having issues digesting certain foods, a conversation with a female friend led me to enquiring. She'd had it and explained how great she felt after, bit long term I'm unsure of the benefit.

Again, thanks for your points.

I've heard of diverticular disease. Can't get rid of it. Have to manage it. Most important try not to get constipated, drinks lots of water

It can flush all the bacteria from your colon . You would be best having a consult with a practitioner

I have had colonics. I believe if used occasionally they can be helpful, not sure about detox-theories but useful for occasional sluggishness. I also think it could be helpful when combined with probiotic implants (better to have the bacteria added directly to the bowel rather taking orally and hoping it survives the stomach

I first tried them after suffering constipation after quitting smoking and I did become regular again.

Done it once and you do feel great after. Give it a try.

Your skin will look amazing the day after so worth it just for that.

There is no actual evidence from reliable and trusted source for this.
