Sex at Dawn

More than Two

The Ethical Slut

They're the most well-known ones, but plenty more covering all sorts of aspects/sub-aspects if you do some googling/digging.

"Why break the rules by following the rules "

Some people like to have a frame of reference to what they are doing or thinking about doing - just like with BDSM.

What I have learned here that I used to find strange is that just because people might be sexually liberated and non-traditional , it doesn’t mean they are free thinkers.

"Why break the rules by following the rules "

How is it breaking the rules? It's playing a different game entirely.

You can't judge rugby rules by football rules, despite similarity and cross-over. Monogamy doesn't work for some people, but that doesn't make them inherently disloyal or whatever the undertones of your statement were.
