"This is purely from our perspective, so I hope it helps. Poly for us isn't something that's gonna be found on a website and it isn't going to be found be actively searching for it. It's got to be a natural progression from something existing - whether that's from people we know now, or people our paths cross with in the future. It has to come from genuine no agenda connection. Just because I'm awfully pedantic (it's true, I caused a whole forum thread!) Polygamy/ous is marriage to multiple people. Polyamory is the love of multiple people. Ethical non monogamy is what most people practise here, and is everything up until 'love'. I think the trick to poly, if there ever was one, is just to stay open but don't push. There are so many different connections and variations and labels and... etc. It begins to become quite limiting from what was meant to be freeing. Always be honest about what you want, but that also means facing uncomfortable truths head on. Any poly doesn't work without hard-core honesty and communication." Also in terms in sites, look towards alt sex communities, kink communities etc. Poly tends to be more prevalent there than the ENM here. Neither are wrong, it tends to be different experiences breed different priorities. - D

Up to a point, but like swinging, there are online communities of like-minded individuals. They can help with advice in a way you would struggle to find elsewhere, even if they're not the direct route to finding your partners. I explored poly a while back and thought it suited me, but then I met someone I wanted to commit to fully. However, I've stayed in the social groups because I really liked the people.

Sorry what I meant was, for us poly isn't going to be found through actively looking online. This is works for us and we aren't saying it's 'the way' Absolutely poly groups are vital, we infact are looking to be getting more social in the new year, specially with poly minded people. Again less to look for anything and more just to be around same minded people which is something that's sorely lacking in our life. Just having a community of people around you, even platonic - especially platonic - who get it, helps so so much.
