Could anyone recommend a good face blurring app please. I’ve tried a few and they aren't very good. Any help would be appreciated

Perhaps it's worth stating which ones you have tried?

We use the editing tools in the Samsung gallery, you can blur or pixelate set how strong you need it to be! works great!

I'm sure iPhone will have its own!

Don't know what platform you're using, but all our photos are edited using the built in Samsung photo editor, PicSay Pro and Snapseed. Between those three we can do everything we need.

It’s not a good idea to tell people what apps you’re using as its easy for someone to revert the pic to the original if they know what they’re doing and what app you’re using.

The youtube studio one is pretty good, i use it to follow our faces and do the blurring. You can always correct it on a frame by frame basis if needed.

You just need a youtube account and then search for some blurring vids on youtube itself.

The "face blurring." We've never risked it as I once saw on the news a guy sending his unsolicited dic pics and videos to those under 18, the cops manged to unblur his mush.

Best to wear a mist or in picks leave out face or crop pics.

I use one just called ‘Blur Photo’, I’m on iPhone, I find it works just fine, with different grades of blurring or pixelating. And it’s free.

If you’re referring to swirly face that was purely because the swirl effect was easy to unswirl the original picture was all still there

blurring apps that totally replace the original cannot be undone.

As long as you’re not using a swirl filter then no you can’t reverse them

It's amazing what people believe based on what they see in Hollywood movies. Blowing up a detailed image when there is practically nothing to work with in the original blurry/pixelated image lol. Reminds me of a particular Red Dwarf episode.

People just need to use a bit of common sense. I see so many videos which are carelessly blurred. The blur covers random parts of the face, leaving huge parts visible, or simply switches off half a second too early, or comes on half a second too late. If you're blurring a 60 second video, but showing the persons face for just 1 frame, then it's pretty pointless censoring the video in the first place. Same with negative effects.

I'd imagine there should be something automatic like certain popular social-video apps provide.

I'd love to hear what apps people use, preferably not the built-in ones, as they're usually phone specific. Maybe there's a market for making a high quality free/very cheap blurring app...

If you shake your head really fast from left to right when the photo is taken then this will create the desired effect and there is no need for an app.
