I've stopped putting a face pic on my profile due to living in a small town, however people always want to see them. Question is what do I do if people recognise me from my work?

Ps I work in a local popular bar so loads of people come in.

Only speak with people that are not local to you. So avoid those that are within an hours drive from you.

Would there be a problem if they did? After all, they are also on the site and you might recognise them too.

If you don't want to play locally just don't swap pics with people in your area. if you don't mind and have nothing to hide, swap away!

If they have seen your face pictures I'm here they are just as likely to want to be discreet as you are I would think. If they do decide to broadcast that they've seen you on here smile sweetly and say how nice it was to see their pictures too, other people will either not know what they're talking about or think it's a wind up.

That's all very well also good, however majority of females one seem to want local or regular FB. Being over an hour away makes it hard for both counts, this usual automatic delete.

I never shown my face photo on my profile unless was my ativtar. im not ashamed to be on here nor people knowing.

happened to me.

and they put my pics and profile on all the notice boards.

now if someone wants a face pic they can ask.

but as im getting older im caring less what people think

I go based on two things if someone at work for example was to recognise me on here.

1. They themselves are also admitting to being on here by saying anything regardless of any excuses they come up with so I can always turn the tables and put them on the back foot.

2. I've actually been successful through here so hardly embarrassing either.

I've been on here not far off two years now and no one has said anything about fab.

Hell, I live 3 hours away from my FB, and it is great .... I had the same thoughts as you, I could not go anywhere near people around me, but to be honest, after 6 months on the scene, I have to say, if people really want to comment about me being on here, then thay have to have been to, and in all fairness most people do not broadcast that sort of information.

I have even been to local socials with my husband and FB, and I have to say, I knew nobody there, and we all had a blast. You have to have some faith in people.... you do get a feel after a few messages as to whether you may know someone or no.... (I have actually found someone I know on here and I know they will not go around broadcasting any more than I will)

Just enjoy what you can, try not to get as hung up on will they know you or no.... otherwise you will never find anybody....

That's awful! Especially as they must have been on the site to have seen it, some people ..

We're the same as you the older we get the less inclined we are to give a monkey's about what everyone else thinks.

remember too that if yu do want to remain anonymous and you are using an alias on the site, if someone saves your face pic it saves it with the full url and username on it, so its obvious where the pic came from. The sole reason we never have face pics on here and we only exchange them by msn

I have nothing hide or be ashamed off. I have a top job and even if someone did recognise me it wouldn't make a bit of difference. Oh and everyone knows my lifestyle anyway. Also have 3 work friends on here .

I agree that I am not ashamed of meeting people on fab but would certainly not want my work to find out and not my children either.

If someone is wanting to out you to your work collegues then I would not put it past them to try to spread it as much as possible to hurt you. So we are careful about face pics.

People will say that they didnt see the profile they are wanting to rat on but say it was a mutual friend that told them so you cant do the well you want to be as discreet as i do.

lets face it, if people want to try to embarrass you then they will. I just think that if you dont meet locals then your chances of recognising someone you know are then reduced.

I don't show mine, had a close shave when someone sent me hers first.... It was a Boys grandma from my class! Shame really she was lovely, but it has taught me not to play on my doorstep.

That is same with me. I will not show ant face picture on here. It does not mean I am not genuine or real. It just means I am being more careful for both my job and the other members of my family--kids.

I am prepared to send one, only by email or messenger. People should appreciate that for certain reasons it might not be convenient for some of us to show our face pics willy nilly.
