If couples open your first message but doesn't show as deleted, would it mean they may be interested in the future?

Who knows? The polite thing to do is respect that they've chosen not to respond and don't message again unless they do.

Room 237 at The Overlook Hotel, Suffolk

It could be that only one half of the couple has seen the message

But there could be any number of reasons for it being read and not deleted

One of us will often read a message and leave it there till the other one has seen it.

If it’s still there a week or so later I’d say it’s down to not being interested.

Not a couple but as a single i agree with this. I delete messages I have zero interest in and only keep them in my inbox if I'm undecided or just too busy to add to my active conversations at that time. But everyone uses the site differently, so unless they message you in the future you will never know, and that just has to be okay.

Take a different view to some here. If really bad/no interest we delete on spot. If really good or fits with current interest reply quickly. Lots in the middle we leave for a bit. They are probably not interested but no harm in a polite follow-up at some point particularly if in response to a status. Just don’t cut and paste same message Sometimes people are in the mood to reply and sometimes busy and not. First message may be of interest but something in second one peeks interest. We’ve replied to people second or third time around and ditto in prior single life.

No.. it happens a lot, I use to keep them thinking it might lead to something in the future but you guessed it.. it never did.. now if opened and not deleted it has an inbox life of less than 24 hours

It’s the new thing to do …

Just ignore it and delete the conversation otherwise you’ll just go mad

For us we rarely delete anything tbh.

It just falls down the list out of sight.

No harm in trying again sometime as we may just not have had time or the inclination to reply first time around.

Funny enough a cut and paste repeat jumps out at ya.

Best thing to do once you've sent a first message is delete it from your sent folder, then you can forget about it unless they reply.

If you're the type of person that likes to look if your messages have been read/deleted,I'd say it's generally bad form to send a second message after not recieving a reply to your first one.

No one can answer your question bud, everyone uses their profile differently, don't look at past sent messages to see if they've been read just look forward to a message in your inbox

There could be many reasons.

Pay it no mind, ignore your outbox and focus on your inbox.

In my experience probably not.. it happens a lot (and i mean a lot) when I've sent messages.. i honestly can't think of a single time i recieved a message after if it opened and left open are a few days... now i delete after 3 or 4 day, making a note that it was read and not deleted.. they will probably end up deleting your message after a week or so anyway
