Organising a house party

We've been to a house party in the past and are looking to hold our own sometime soon.

We're looking to invite a few couples 4/5 but not sure whether to invite 6/7 as you'll probably get one or two who generally pull out last min!

Anyone held or been to parties before who could share some wisdom with us about what makes a good party?

Invite some of the people you met at the party you attended and wished you could have played with but didn't.

Get them to invite one couple/ single they trust absolutely and will vouch for.

Invite the host(s) from the party you attended if they're not in either of the above.

You're right about inviting 1.5 -2 times the number you expect to attend.
