Best put on when you get hard, the blood will then remain in place keeping you way until you remove.

Make sure you get a ring that is not too tight though as the blood still needs too flow.

If you use a steel ring, it must be put on when you're flaccid, a rubber ring can be put on once you're hard.

I'd recommend the steel rings, they keep you hard, look great, and the added weight feels lovely.

You should never leave a cock ring on for more than about 45 mins at a time. Left on for too long, they can cause burst bloodvessels (random bleeding on and around the penis), and swelling just under the knob. Not good if you want to create a good impression at a club.

Then try the rubber or silicone rings which stretch. You can put one of those on while still hard, and it does keep you hard for however long you wish (or however long you can keep it up, depending on the situation or circumstances!). Just don't keep it on for longer than about 30 mins at a time, though - that can bring on swelling and penile bleeding.
