Is it so wrong to ask someone for a quick chat on phone to verify they are actually female.? I have 'upset' someone ( so they say) by my mistrust!

In my world, if im going to chat and arrange to meet, it is best to know who the heck i am talking to first.

I thought it was considered normal to swap numbers for a chat on here. I don't, mainly because I meet only men and very few of them pretend to be girls to meet girls, but if I was meeting a couple I'd insist on it.

If we were meeting couples or females we would like confirmation of who they are early on, it saves wasting any time, so I can understand when the males we look for ask us to confirm we are a couple.

Having said that we don't give a number out straight away, but we do prove there is a couple here by camming to show face on.

If after a chat we decide to all meet thats when we give a number out.

I would say you should do whatever works for you, you won't always get people who think the same, but you can move onto the next one if needed.

We do it all the time to make sure there is a real couple behind the profile, and not a guy posing as one. Caught 'a few' out so far....

If they have a problem with it, I'd drop them like a stone.

with newer couples/females..I'm getting a few that wont give me what I want, ie. confirmation of the female half being actually present.I'm not pushing to meet asap ever...and I dont have the time or inclination for messing about sending texts giving calls etc etc..

One couple even managed to give their number over...great stuff.I still wasnt convinced of the one verify they had,and as they were asking for a meet next day..I wanted absolute confirmation on the female communication.

I ended up getting a text saying that they werent teenagers, and a real cpl...and I should go lick old fanny.

Did once no telephone with single "girl" arranged meet at a bar me alone without hubby and a 6ft plus gorilla turns up saying "some about she couldn't make it". Was out of there like a flash and legged it to bus - since then telephone call first if they don't want to then I politely decline meet(s)... Safety first for all

i have been accused by a 'couple' of being a guy because i didnt answer the phone when they rang....after a few messages back and forth it turned out that the 'couple' was actually a single guy!!! the bloody cheek of it

Just to clarify, this was a couples profile, but I was contacted by the female only (Im not looking for a man).

Thats why I was asking for confirmation of gender.

If it was a female only profile I probably wouldnt of been suspicious.

I'd be just as suspicious if it was a 'single female' profile as a 'couple' profile. I've chatted to quite a lot now that I figured were blokes. They disappear as soon as you ask for a phone chat.

'She' shouldn't be offended if she is, in fact, a she. Perhaps it is a cop out for a 'he' who realises he is about to be rumbled and is trying to lay the guilt trip on you or using it as a way out without being 'caught out'.

My own rule is if they wont chat on phone or prove it with a chat using webcams then I wont risk meeting them either. I like to know who I am meeting. And as said gets rid of all the fakes and timewasters on here.

Add it to your profile that you expect to speak to the fem half of couples on the phone before a meet is finalised.

That way they can't complain as it's all there for them to see before any discussions start.

And yes, I know that most don't read the words but they can't get stroppy if it's there.

We have had two fakers for 2 nights running. One single female was going to meet us at Chams so we asked to have a fem to fem call or a quick webcam to prove we both are who we say we are as we would be driving 180 mile round trip. suddenly 1 million reason why they can not do that !!!

Then last night we had a single female who wanted to cam to cam on MSN which was fine only to be subjected to a 30 second video

saying thats me !!!! we asked her to wave at the cam to show its live? fair question we felt only to be bumped and blocked !!! lol

Got to hand it to some fakers they really are trying to pull the wool over others eyes

We feel anyone who is real on this site would have no problem proving who they are and also understand why people ask for proof as fakers are all over FAB. We would never have a problem proving who we are are if we were arranging a meet.

Why would anyone not want to chat on the the phone?It is the best way to prove to each other that you are both females.We do not trust cams because they can be fake ie recording of someone else or of a old girlfriend etc.We have a fun phone that we just use for swinging so not worried about giving our number out to people that we would like to chat to.We think you can get a bit of a feel about a person when you chat on the phone.

The numbers are the key! If they won't speak on the phone... says it all.

Everyone I've met, they've been fine with it. Anyone who hasn't been fine with it, hasn't turned out to be genuine or I've refused to meet.

I've always spoken to people on the phone whom I'm interested in meeting, its far more reliable than depending upon verifications in the real world.

Otherwise they have something to hide or are maybe a bit too shy to be able to meet in person, which is pointless for myself.

I totally agree with you - that fem-to-fem phone call is totally essential. I rarely even go beyond half a dozen messages without insisting on it!

Personally, if anyone objected to it, then I'd assume that they've got something to hide, and are probably messing me about - I'd block them no matter how good they might sound otherwise....

Even if genuine - if they don't think that you're worth that phone call, then they aren't the sort of people that you'd enjoy meeting anyway.

Pass on by and find the real ones that are worth it!

Admittedly I'm new and had very few meets so this view might change, but currently I'd assume any woman who didn't take this basic precaution was a bit of a nutter and I would probably have second thoughts myself!
