Talking about sexual interests and fantasies is a good idea, to open up and to make things less pressured. It's not entirely honest, if you have an ulterior agenda.

You need to be prepared that a partner may not share your interests. If you have agreed monogamy, then it may be a tough situation, if you're unfaithful already, for example.

Opening up about sexual interests is a healthy thing, even if you don't swing at any point. Go at their pace.

Just bought up the idea of it one evening, discussed it, turns out she'd had a similar curiousity. Bit of research plenty of discussion and here we are 5 or 6 years later..
