Why is sending a wink a deletable offence to so many?

Do people tell you they are offended if you wink?

It seems that way.

A wink says "I like what I see"

It should be the 1st way of making contact, if they don't wink back, you can't contact them.

Save a hell of a lot of unread messages.

Maybe they use it as a filter and block if they don't think you'd be a good match

We welcome winks as an icebreaker on the understanding that they don’t necessarily guarantee a reply.

It's lazy. Read the profile and send a msg.

From reading many profiles, it seems so. Up there with sending dick pics and a “hi there” message. Seems innocuous to me

I don't mind a wink if they've read my profile and match what I'm after

Most of mine are from men miles away who don't.

"It's lazy. Read the profile and send a msg."

We don't think that way AT ALL. Single guys get so down about the messages that they put real effort into going to waste. A wink is a way of saying "I find you physically attractive, if you find me physically attractive then wink back and I'll then message".

I get the idea of a wink but why send one where the sender has the silhouette profile picture, no other photos on their profile and the profile text just says "hi".

As someone once said "You can not be serious!!"

We get a lot of those....from couples more than single guys, too.

First line of my profile is send me a wink and I will block you, I'm currently blocking around 5 a day.

My reasoning is if guys cant even be bothered to read the first line or respect my wishes then how can I trust them to respect my boundarys if I meet them on my own?

We take winks as somebody is interested in us, though they are mostly from blank and pictuless single Male profiles.

What if we could add up to 3 photos to the wink? (only face or "page 3 material", so no unsolicited dick pics)

Then it could work as initial match-making, and those who wish could set their profile only to allow incoming messages from those they wink-matched already.

Less irrelevant emails for girls and couples, and less frustration of unread messages for guys.

In its current way, a wink is useless for many of us. For example, I only share face photos if I fancy someone, I see no point to make them visible to everyone. It makes wink useless for me now.
