staffs

hi all,

even now after all this time I'm still surprised by how many peeps say on their prof single males dont contact us!

please follow these simple steps and everyone will be happy.

Message Filters

Filters are a useful way of ensuring YOU only get messages from people you want to hear from.

Your filters mean that people must be all the following to message you:

No filters: Anyone can mail you (apart from people you have specifically blocked)

Change your filters:

Single men (yes, they can mail you) block them

Newbies (yes, they can mail you) block them

Not got public photos on profile (yes, they can mail you) block them

Not verified or (yes, they can mail you) block them

Not site supporters

You must be a site supporter yourself before blocking same.

PS. The filters don't apply and still people can message you if you...

Have mailed someone before (so if you mail someone you have otherwise filtered, they can reply)

Winked at someone (because if you wink we figure they should be able to reply)

Have them as a friend (because that makes sense)

We don't meet single guys, but we do hold socials so single men need to be able contact us.

I must say I do get rather annoyed with people who are particularly rude in their profile with regards to single males, it is not needed as the O.P. has pointed out.

When you get numerous mails daily from men asking to meet, cam, swop pics when it POLITLEY says on your profile we dont meet single guys, then you would understand when a cpl start to state it very clearly in caps that they dont meet single men.

Its very simple for all, not just single guys, read a profile find out what the other is looking for then send a mail that is going to stand out from the rest and not a one liner.

i get a feeling this thread as been done many times over

Single male here and if a profile says they don't want contact from single males I wouldn't contact them.

Why should the other people filter out people they dont want contact from if they dont want to use those settings? Would it not be simpler for the person reading the profile to actually read what it says and don't contact them? Or is that just too much like common sense?

"I was highlighting the ones who were particularly rude! "

But it is their profile and it is up to them what they say on it, who they want contact from and what filters they want to use, etc!

Just move on and avoid the profiles you think are particularly rude. Again just common sense!

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

It is abundantly clear to me that there are dozens of men messaging swathes of women/couples on a daily basis. I can't imagine how irritating and frustratong that must be.

And that is why I would NEVER criticise anyone for how strongly anti-single men their profile is. Nobody would have that much negativity in their profile unless they felt they had no alternative.

But they do.

If it is so irritating that it is beyond even your imagination why not use the filters?

No I dont think they should have to but its not a perfect world and things dont always work out the way you think they should.

So click the button and a lot of the stress and angst will disappear.

Fortress of Solitude, Middlesex

I would go so far as to say the filters should be extended to preferences, rather than just status.

My biggest bugbear comes from bi guys suggesting:

"How do you know if you haven't tried?"

"Wouldn't you just be a little curious?"

"Maybe I can tempt you?"

One guy, after first email (I ignored and deleted) second email (I replied "thanks but no thanks - see my preferences"), third email (I blocked him with no response) he actually setup a new account/email (same pics and details, slightly changed handle (from "user1" to "user2", for example) and contacted me again - had to warn him was now harrassment... then he stopped.

I don't block single guys (I have a few friends I chat to, and useful for organising parties and socials) but it needs to be tuned.

PS: How about the "single male" filter to be extended to "single females" and "couples" - I know one or two females who only seek single males and no couples, yet get a lot of grief on this.

Totally agree,if a couple doesnt want to meet a guy its their choice and their right to point it out.
