I'm pretty new to all this , but the idea of going to clubs appeals to me....but the thought of going on my own is a bit daunting. I'd like to find some people to talk to and maybe go along with whether it be their first time too or 100th time. Can be men or women I don't mind.

Probably struggle with that one.

Maybe attend a local social meet and chat to people there.

Not many people will want to take someone along to a club, because if you behave badly it reflected negatively on them

As the other poster has suggested look for a local social event that way you'll meet people establish some friendships and maybe you'll bump into them in clubs etc

Or I believe there are several clubs in the Birmingham area look out for posts about especially event nights listed in the clubs discussion page chat on the post get to know those attending try ti build connections so you'll have people to say hello to once you arrive

Have a look in the events thread and meets section for any socials been held. Might be a bit less daunting and a start to mingle with others. Clubs are great though, once your inside it’s fine. X

Or make some friends on here to begin with.

I mean by chatting in the forums and getting to know people.

Not sending unsolicited messages and friend invites.

Not an impossible task but making friends on this site sure isn’t that easy……. But then if something comes easy it normally isn’t that great.

If you want something worth having in life then you need to really put the effort in.

Unfortunately your best bet is to get to a club then make the friends. I've met a great group of people at a club but I had to get there to do it.

I’ve never managed to make any friends from the various forums or websites I’ve been on but that’s just me. Clubs are way too daunting! I read about the recent Manchester social which was (I think) 300-ish people - yikes!

This is how I first went, I meet up with someone off here, we had a social together and both expressed how we wanted to go to a club and neither of us had been, so we went together. Worked well for both of us and we really enjoyed it!
