What on earth does one wear for a daytime club visit??

Most give advice for evening events - sexy clubwear etc but that feels odd for a lunchtime!

I'd imagine smart casual applies for the men regardless but any advice for me would be appreciated.

I suppose it depends what type of club it is. A nightclub type one would require different clothes than a spa type club
