Disappearing messages

When we get a message, we normally check to see if we have messaged before and if we have, sometimes one half of the messages / conver have disappeared; so looks like one person talking and no responses showing - I would have guessed they were deleted but sometimes it's our side of the conversation which have disappeared and we haven't deleted anything? Does anyone else get this?

Yes it happens. I'm guessing there's a limit to the number of messages that will be saved.
