Put your big boy pants on and go on your own? Not many people are willing to risk their club membership on a newbie as they can't know how that person is going to behave in a club setting. Alternatively, try and arrange to meet someone in the club?

Go on your own, what’s the worst that could happen?

Think of it like any other bar or club and treat everyone with respect they'll make you feel comfortable...

Can't your mum take you, she could hold your hand outside the door, she could stay with you till you settle in and make friends.

You've got a few clubs nearby. Read the reviews, look at their web sites, and pick one that looks like it might suit you. Then choose a suitable night, contact the club to get on the guest list if there is one, and go.

Dress decently, be friendly and sociable, and it can be a good night out.

Would love a female partner to take to Secrets, they don't allow single guy's.

Its always hard.. and we recently took someone with us for the first time and it was just about having the support to walk through the door with someone. I do agree whoever would take you you would need some former relationship with first. So try building that up or maybe try a social and meet people that way and work up to a club.

The alternative is going on your own and while it may seem intimidating you will soon wonder what you were worried about.

Good luck!

Honestly just brave it and go, you’ll never look back, and have nothing to lose. Just think of it as a liberated pub

Once in and socialising yes not a problem but saying its like a pub, not many people go to a pub alone with the intention of meeting new friends etc

Would you say it's more the expense of an entry fee that's putting you off? If so, I totally understand and I would be more sympathetic to that than not having any bottle. I've always thought getting over the threshold was the easy bit.

Well, where DO you go when you want to meet new friends? This is life. You walk into your first day of a new job alone, evening classes, football teams, whatever you do for fun. Swinging is no different.

I agree, first time I went to somewhere like that back home, I went by myself. Still have to try it in the UK, but I will soon enough
