Here's the scenario from today. I'm new here so value your thoughts.

Spotted a message in the "meets,events" section for Thursday from a female in my home town in the south east. Thought, worth contacting if just for a coffee so replied as below:

....also looking for some excitement and elicit fun. Perhaps we could meet on the coast (where I work) or away from ******* a bit? Just coffee / chat is fine....

Now, this person bangs on in her profile about people letting her down and not turning up when agreed etc, so seems to want to be treated well... so imagine my surprise when I think of sending a friend request and get the message:

THIS PERSON HAS BLOCKED YOU

Odd I think, so go to message asking if this was a mistake or if I'd somehow offended and get:

THIS PERSON HAS BLOCKED YOU

Now. I'm a big boy and can handle rejection. I've had one or two and that's fine...I don't plan to stalk anyone or demand an explanation, but this confussed me a bit.

So, what (if anything) is up here?

Let's have a poll:

1. Saw my face and thought "f**k me, this is the ugliest bloke on here"

2. I think I've seen him on Crimewatch.

3. Oh crap, he works with my husband.

4. Same town, too close to home.

Answers on a postcard. I'm not cut up about this in the slightest and will happily move on (as some will suggest) but interested in opinions of those more experienced than me at this.

p.s. I've starred out the name of town as it's not my intention to draw attention to this person.. that would be petty and spiteful.

p.p.s ladises / couples. If you're not too repulsed by my visage, by all means contact me...or block!

As said previously there are a few things she might have been put of by:

The localness, playing behind partners back, only meet in afternoons, bi sexual, non verified

Best just to shrug your shoulders and go onto the next - be wasting your time trying to physcoanalyise what a total stranger was thinking

I know there are thousands of blokes on here and not many women, but..... (I'm probably going to get crucified for saying this)

I've just read a single lady's profile who's not looking for single blokes but IS LOOKING for just one man...... Can't accommodate can only travel locally, he needs to be fit, over six foot, well groomed and handsome. 'Needs to have the means to be able to accommodate' has no photos but I must supply mine.

Doesn't want much does she; pissst my next meet have to be lottery winners of at least half a million, yeah right!

Or on the other hand combing through 500 shite emails daily looking for one that's actually politely written by someone who takes your fancy, reaching the end and having another 250 to go through, most written by fuckwits and ignorami...whereas I can read and reply accordingly to at the very most 20 odd in maybe half an hour a day, they spend a good few daily hours combing through shite...

Simple answer don't try and think for her. Whatever reason she had she didn't want to me, accept it and move on.

There could be a million and one reasons she could have had for not replying and blocking you. Unless she tells you you're never going to know. Instead you're just going to continue to over think it in your head.

It's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I've had it where on the face of things it looks like I've met everything they're looking for yet get no response. I've even had it where they wink me and then I've messaged them and they've not responded.

Then on the opposite end you'll get messages from people occasionally that you'd never think would be interested in meeting you but they are.

Swings and round abouts...

Having read your OP, the thing which jumps out of your profile to me is just how many specific locations are mentioned. Somewhat surprised that you didn't included your home address just to make sure you had covered all bases!!!

I can well-see how a lady living in your own town could have hit the BLOCK button so quickly - and it has nothing to do with how you look or anything else. If I showed your profile to Perky she would probably say there is even the whiff of 'stalker' about it.. (she's had one so she should know....

)

Like I keep saying to people (usually single guys - yawn!!) you need to take a step back and REALLY look at your profile and think about how it comes over to other people - in particular, local women in your case...

The other thing guys ignore at their cost, is that personal security is a MAJOR issue for swinging single girls - if your profile gives the impression that their safety could be compromised in ANY way, then again.... BLOCKED!

On the contrary. I think on average they're as nice, friendly and intelligent as couples and single femmes are.

However, the dickhead factor amongst them will most likely take the option of carpet bombing every woman or couple on here with a shit message along the lines of 'wanna fuck?' Or 'hey, I gotta big cock for you baby'. They will carry on with this approach till they become insulting, angry or like sulky brats, because they are either totally insensitive or too thick as pigshit to realise where they're going wrong, often both. Whereas the non-dickheads will write well-thought out messages to a lot fewer women. So therefore the amount of shit messages a woman receives will proportionally outweigh by far the proportion of men onsite who are actually bone-fide dickheads.

Of course there are dickhead couples and women on here too. But because of the massive ratio of men to women, they will get meets. The problem they will have instead is that the majority of their meets will be shit, because they can't fathom out how to spot a guy who would qualify as a brilliant meet, the brilliant guy wouldn't be in the faintest bit interested in them anyway, or simply that dickhead attracts dickhead. They will become disillusioned, turn their profile into a series of shouty rants in block capitals before fucking off from the site in a silly fit of pique, wrongly assuming that all meets on fab must be crap.

Things are usually a lot less simple than they seem in all walks of life and fab is no different....

Vis a vis my choice of language, I apologise if you found it offensive. I wouldn't normally use an entire tirade of swear words, however the morons I describe fit them so beautifully.

As for the non-expletives used they are less insulting and more fact. The idiots spoil things for a lot of users as I'm sure given a choice a lady would prefer not to look through a couple of hours worth of garbage, likewise I'm sure that a lot of chaps through no fault of their own wouldn't like to be looked down upon by couples or femmes that don't get it. Therefore they cause grief for others and to wit are the thoughtless imbeciles I described.

I don't think a lot of thought has to be given to this particularly, its just an observation. I don't lose too much sleep over it to be honest as they don't make much difference one way or the other to my own using of fab, however when a lot of couples/women moan about single guys being inconsiderate wastes of space or single guys whinge petulantly about the ratio of men to women, woe is me, getting no meets, blah blah blah then these clots are usually at fault...

No offence taken, have no fear. My original posts were light hearted, maybe dry comments on the thread. I think I, like yourself, imagine a thoughtful well written message would stand out far more from the rest simply because it was thoughtful and well written.

It's a fact of life we have to live with that there are thousands more guys on here than women. I haven't ever complained nor will I. I just get on with life.
