"We are currently organising a meet where neither of us can accomodate and so we are looking to book a hotel room in South Yorkshire. As we are quite new to this we were wondering if anyone can advise where might be good and any tips such as where might be willing to turn a blind eye to extras staying etc." To be honest thats easier than it sounds to answer your problem. If you don't pick a privately owned small hotel you'll have no problems but even with those type of hotels it shouldn't be too bad. If it's anything from a Travel Inn to a large good quality hotel like The Radison chain, Malmaison, Swallow etc., once you've checked in the hotel don't bother about you at all, so you can either let your "guests" in or give them a key if the hotel operates a key entry system, if not they simply walk straight in. Clearly while what happens in your room is your own business but if you make too much noise, so that it would disturb other hotel guests then you may have some issues, but generally speaking it's easy. Suffice to say, I've been in a few hotels at the dead of night, that I'm not registered in, and on more than one occasion in a Travel Inn, about 8 of us have bunked down in a room for just £19 in total while heading off to footie games.... ![]() | |||
