THIS IS NOT A JOKE!

Hello, I really need some advice, I have been approached to do some adult movies through a company called stallion entertainment based in Manchester, they have promised me work locally with potentially very good earnings...i have had numerous conversations with them and they are now wanting a fee to promote and market my profile to production companies to basically get me work...

I am really skeptical about this, they sound too good to be true, they have a website, an address and i cant find any negative press about them on google. They say that they can get me work within 7 days and about 4 scenes a month guaranteed.

I am wary of paying my money for them to scam me and not give me any work...

has anyone heard of them? or been through this before or knows someone who has? or even can find any more information about them?

This is not a wind up or a joke or a discussion about whether im right for it or not i just want some advice about the company and what to do.

Thanks for listening,

David x

if ti sounds too good to be true it is normally. If they are genuine why are you having to pay them money to promote you when they could just take a percentage fo your earnings.

Tell them they can take their fees out of your first earnings.

I would never pay up front like that.

They would not need to "promote" you if they produce their own films. Obviously the fine print will say that they will publish your details in order for you to receive offers! It's a scam, similar to thousands of others on the web. Simply Google the company name and see what people say about them!

Why would they need any up front money if they have all this work that they are going to make commission on.

Any company that wants money first is almost certainly not genuine.

Sounds like the old fashion model scam, where you pay a fortune for your portfiolo, then the alleged modelling company ask for more money for promoting you. These documentaries crop up periodically on television.

they want you to create a profile? - could try finding out exactlly where this profile is to be used and try getting in contact with other guys who work for them - or heck just ask them to put u in contact with people who work for them...

It is likely a scam!

There may be a possibility of work but only amongst the creme dela creme of males.

The porn industry amongst men is likely to be very competitive so ask yourself a very honest question: do you have the attributes required to cut it as a male star in the world of porn?

If not, then you will just be another out of work actor of the adult variety!

Best of luck if you do go for it!

How much are they asking?

Can you afford to lose it?

If you can't, don't touch it with a barge pole. If you can then I guess nothing ventured.

But I would want to see contract first to make sure you are signing something to give you back up.

never pay for any kind of modelling work, its what the agency do for you, Franchine normally takes 20% and NEVER charges up front for portfoilios or promotion

They are definitely an agency, just had a quick look on their website and got that from their home page. It says their clients are production companies, clubs and modelling agencies etc. The £2,500 fee will be for them to promote you to their other clients. You may or may not get work out of this but it's not a guarantee that your gonna make shed loads of cash.

They are asking for £300 for 3 months or £550 for a year! Yeah I've seen their website etc!

Anymore thoughts? X

you should not be giving them money at all

dont be fooled by them and maybe report them and if they are on the up and up then they should be okay and if they are a bunch of scam artists you have saved yourself and others a load of dosh

Theres a few pornstars on here at the moment. Appoach them and ask have they ever heard of this company. The u.k. porn industry is smallish enough that everyone knows everyone else. If they haven't heard of said company tell them where to go.

Sounds like a scam to me to be honest.

as an equity memeber this is crap a good agent will find you work and tell you his commision no up front fees should ever part hands there maybe a rider in contract that a percentage is also taken to promote you as an extra ongoing fee but dont part with cash so if he says 2 days work at £250 per day leass 10% commison = you would get £450 less an ongoing 10% promotion fees that would be another £45 so you would be paid £405 get my drift dude

This is exactly what I was going to say. Used to come across this all the time in the 80's when I was very active as a photographer.

As a general rule, if an agency - ANY agency - genuinely thinks you have money making potential (which is what its really all about for them) THEY will put the investment into promoting you - as YOU will be making them money from the first booking you get.

NEVER part with money for test shots, web sites or anything else. If THEY want YOU, then THEY should the the ones paying. What YOU bring the partnership is the talent. THEY being the money - NOT you!!!!

David/OP, Just had a look at their website and what it reminds me of is the ones which prey on guys who think they are going to get Male Escort work. Within the T's & C's and the Disclaimer are phrases very similar to those found on escort listing sites. I don't think they are an agent atall - in fact if you look at the very last line in the main 'article', it actually says '... if you are lucky enough to get an agent...' Says it all as far as I can see....

My ex had a friend who did a shoot, she paid some money up front, they did the shoot.. they then disappeared and she has no video, photos, down the initial money.

Basically she paid to get fucked *literally* by a few blokes.

I've always thought that if you need to pay anything up front then there's something wrong.

Sorry but it is definately a scam for any agency work like this, for either film or photography modelling they aren't suupposed to ask for an up front fee their earnings should come from a percentage of yours agreed contractually only, so stay well clear!!!!! Trust me back in my modelling days this tricked plenty of people that were new I the industry n didn't have their smarts bout them

Its a old scam that's done the rounds for a while. However, if you're desperate to part with your money why not give me £550, send me regular mucky pics of yourself and I'll do nothing but pocket the money and perv all over you?

Failing that I have a cousin in Nigeria....
