Outted on fab

I've just had a friend (who is not on fab) inform me that a mutual acquaintance (who is on fab) has told him all the details of my fab profile, to the point where this friend could recite my reviews verbatim.

Now aside from being a dick move, is this against any rules of the site?

I mean, maybe, but....

Not sure how to break this to you, dude....

You have face pics on your open profile. Anyone could see you.

I am not sure how the site could enforce that rule.

Sadly you need to assume anything posted on this site will be public knowledge and act accordingly.

And as pointed out above, if you put a face pic on your public profile then I guess anyone can see it so kind of asking for trouble if you want to keep it a secret.

Sadly I doubt it's against any rules or anything the site can do

But I agree dick move by your friend & kind of a pointless move too, who cares what anyone else gets up to in their private life, your single, they are also on the site, what do they gain by discussing your profile, they've obviously shared that they are on here too

Stick it on line and expect it to be as good as public knowledge

Your face picand profile couldturn up anywhere on the intnernet. That's the best reason for keeping faces private.

You certain he's not on fab himself? It's unlikely someone on fab would be talking to someone that's not on it in such detail about users they've seen on there. I reckon it's most likely he's seen your profile himself buddy.

P.s. if anonymity is important to you, public face photo is really not a great idea.

Haha I'm aware, and to be honest I'm okay with what's public on my profile to be seen, but the person who shared it didn't know that when they revealed it. I made the choice to be public with details I don't mind going out and keep stuff I do mind private.

It's a little creepy that your friend can recite your verifications verbatim... Maybe he needs another hobby!

But in all seriousness anything you allow to be seen on here is down to your own assessment. There are somethings you can do, for example in the privacy tab you can remove yourself from appearing in search engines, but that wouldn't solve your particular issue this time.

I would suggest you have a couple of dicks for friends though!

Almost certain I did a search for profiles matching this friend and didn't find anything, that and if this friend found my profile he would tell me to my face no doubt laughing the whole time. But the way its described the person who outted me basically read my profile out to a group of people I used to be friends with at a house party; the only one of which I'm still in contact with was the guy who told me.

Dirty bastards. I'm sorry buddy. Rethink what you want public/available to everyone and then just call it a learning experience. You don't want to feel embarrassed by anything you've made public. If you are, anonymise yourself.

Wow how old are these friends seriously? They are acting like immature teens (in fact the teens I know are above this behaviour tbh).

Are you sure that its not one or both friends been jealous of the fact you been successful as a single male on fab?

KJ

It happened off site. What would you like the mods to do? Ban people purely based on rumour? Yes it's a dick move but so what?

You show your face ergo your easily identifiable and recognisable to some. You can't be that naive to think everyone plays nicely on here.

We show our face. We know the risk. All our freinds know what we do and we are not ashamed of the lifestyle we enjoy. Everyone else is on here for the same reasons and if someone else makes drama out of it, we just won't be dragged into it.

Either hide the face pics or just accept this can happen again.

That's horrid! Don't know why people can't just let others live their life when it doesn't concern them. Just Be a little cautious of what you have public!

The friend may have hidden his profile knowing that you'd look for them? Or may well have blocked you....

Whilst its a horrible and nasty thing to do, what you post up on here, you should be fully happy with being in the public eye! I always look at it as, if my friends saw my profile, would they be diagusted with me?

That's exactly the attitude that I have, I'm okay with what I've shown being seen on fab, and if something like this happened outside. But I person who leaked it didn't know that and for all they knew I would be mortified
