I usually use veet but also shave.

Shaving leaves me with a rash though even though I use a new blade each time.

A few people recommended the silver tin of magic powder so i ordered some. I’m yet to try it though.

to stop rash go with the grain in direction of hair growth if you go against it first time itll give you rash and bumps generally I try to avoid the razors that have a lubricating strip on them or the like they really do give me a rash possibly try olive oil instead for the shaving foam

Definitely shave the direction of growth and use conditioner but I can use shower gel and that’s fine but you have to make sure you go in direction of hair growth or you will get a rash

I use Gillette Venus and have never had a problem. As others have alluded to the moisturising strip on the blades helps . I also use a bit of conditioner.

I keep a razor in the shower, and do it 2 or 3 times a week.. keeps me lovely and smooth…. Always!! Xx

There is a relatively new brand of hair removal cream, it’s called woo woo and in my opinion it’s amazing. There is no irritation, no chafing, it doesn’t have a horrible chemical smell that so many have and it lasts about a week. They also sell a post shave balm which is really lovely too.

I se a Braun epilator on all the 'downstairs' areas apart from by balls which I wet shave.

It's a case of pulling the skin tight and going very slowly. Years of practice have not only left me with areas where hair doesn't grow any more, but I can now do it fairly quickly.

It also means I can go 4 weeks without having to do anything other than shave my balls which takes 5 minutes.

I use the Philips IPL to "laser" the area. This slowly but deffo kills the hair follicles in a proces of a few months.

Dont put anything on after shaving, wash down with cold water afterwards to close the poors of skin.

Best to shave after being in the bath or shower for a bit as it softens the hair. X

I find using shower gel works well as it has a soft film and besides that it's having the correct razor blade because some aren't good for use leaving a rash,or skin very sensitive are signs the razor isn't suitable, not cutting smoothly I use my beard trimmer cordless from Amazon handy little gadget for a reasonable price then shower gel and BIC razor colour sky blue makes me feel less nervous around the sack as it just glides smoothly and afterwards no reason to use anything like creams

I would suggest shaving regularly now you have started, your body will get used to it, unless you have an allergy.

I just wonder why you would want to shave anyway? Trim to keep it tidy, but really there's no need to shave in my opinion. Did you do it for yourself or did you think you had to conform?

I would say to only do something because you want to. If you did, that's great, if not, why do it?

I personal been shaving for a long time and always suffered with a shaving rash but after attending a few clubs and feeling self conscious about it decided to try something different.

So shaving gel not foam...the L'Oréal ice blast mans works wonders, I really good razor Gillette etc with ice cold water and after... which is the most important part nivea shaving balm (again mens) and just moisturise every few hours after.

Not having the problems I used to. I don't have the time and money to wax and veet can burn the lady area so please be careful.

Good luck OP

if you are new to shaving down there i recommend sudocream, rub it on the area after shaving and then keeping applying nightly until the rash goes down if you get one. Avoid tight fitting undies as well.

Also remember to shave with the hair grain, not against it until you really get used to it. Saves a lot of rashes in the early period when shaving.

I use an electric shaver first, then an ordinary razor to finish off, make sure the blade is sharp and do it in a hot bath or shower. Try not to shave over the same area twice, I've done this once a fortnight for about 15 years and never get a rash or any irritation what so ever. Hope this helps.

You just got to use quality razors like Wilkinson Sword or Gillette. They shouldn't leave any rash. Trim hair with scissors first as far as you can. Then use shaving oil or gel to lubricate the area. Keep rinsing the blade to get rid of hairs. Change blade a few times the first time you do it to make sure the one you're using is always sharp. Once the area is bald keep shaving every few days or as the hair starts to grow back. Use new blade each time you do it.

About 10 days ago I got impatient (as hate that re-growth feeling) so I shaved in the shower with a lubricated razor I REGRET IT SOOO MUCH. now I have little red bumps and itchy small hairs. It looks & feels terrible. I'm now tweezering the odd ones I can but I think it's going to take weeks to get back to normal. Yes I agree sudocreme good, also Australian Tea Tree cream works.

I hate shaving and still have a few red bumps from doing it so won’t be doing it again.

Glad you have good feedback on the magic powder, mine arrived yesterday and I’m looking forward to giving it a go.

Did you do anything additional, or just follow the instructions on the tin?

Thanks "

I just followed the instructions on the tin but I did protect my clit with tissue lol.

I’ve been Burnt down there with veet so always extra careful now

I've been shaving mine for years so would say my skin is used to it as don't get any problems.

I do use a sensitive shaving foam.

"I was literally about to post a forum on the very same subject. I prefer a complete wax at salon but the hairs need to have a little growth to extract fully.

Wish I was brave enough for waxing but I’m a wimp when it comes to pain. I’ve also got a large scar that passes up through some of the hair and I’m not allowed to have that waxed.

I tried the magic powder last night and it’s great.

Got rid of everything.

Haha that’s a good idea! I’ll make sure not to get any on my bell end then lol

Glad it’s worked well, I’m hoping to not have to shave every 2/3 days now lol

Use nair. It’s a great product (just watch that you don’t get it on any areas you want to keep your hair)

Shaving is a nightmare when it grows back. I prefer to get waxed, and often leave a bit of hair trimmed on the pubic bone.

Have you looked into wax or sugaring? The hair grows back very fine so it’s not as irritating on the skin.

After shaving my pubic area, I always apply Nivea post-shave balm. Doesn't sting, or bring you out in a rash, and is kind to your skin.

Body groomer, trim it down, then use the foil razor end to get it smooth.

Only had one ingrown hair *ouch*

Hubby and me both like to be completely hair free and we use veet.

Downside is if you leave it on for too long it burns so bad u can forget sex for a couple of days
