appreciated but as it's a couples and womens market it shows us singletons that people are interested...

looking at your pics I can see why a wink wont matter...

we reply to winks if we are interested, it could be that one half if the couple winked and the other answered your message. If both aren't happy then you wouldn't want to be involved in that mess anyway!

If a wink means someone shows an interest or fancies you isn't that at least a little flattering?

I make an informed decision after looking at who has winked. I have been known to do a lap of honour around the garden

I rarely look at my winks. There are just too many to take the time to check every profile in the hope that a few appeal to me.

Often those that wink don't fit my criteria (e.g. they're smokers) but are winking on the off-chance.

If they think they do fit the criteria they tend to message, I find.

I have a look, if I like, I MAY wink back or I MAY send a message saying "Ta very much" or I MAY just ignore them....

Depends which way the wind is blowing and the position of the moon for what I do

I regularly ignore them and regularly block them when I see they dont fit my criteria.

If they are intrested then send a message rather than just a lazy wink x

If I wink at a couple I see it as not being lazy but a non pushy way of showing them I am interested...I do also mail them if really interested

A message that you may or may not read.

Let's be honest, it is possible to check a profile before reading a message and you can come to your own conclusions before reading.

People wink for a reason.

Think it's probably much harder in the sense of couples for example you could hav been winke by the female half who thought mmmm then the male half thought not for me thanks n goodbye (or vice versa). I personally think that in a group dynamic there as to be a mutual level of attraction for all parties even if u don't intend to play wiv everyone there.

We rarely look at winks, again like said, not the time, if the wink is from someone/couple that looks to immediately stand out we will look at their profile and if we like them, wink back.

99.9% of single male winks are not responded to, much prefer a message.

I don't mind winks; I check out the profile, if they are miles away I just delete. I rarely wink back or wink first

The problem is we get so many!! that is not boasting just a fact. I think some people just spam wink and hope to see if they get a response, we just delete all ours every couple of days. If someone is really interested in us we feel they would message us. If we see someone we like the lok of we tend to send a message rather than a wink.. and dont start us on Friends requests!!!

"as a rule. if someone winks...

Obviously we receive THOUSANDS every day and we're FAR TOO BUSY perving over profiles and pictures to respond to the HUGE amount begging for our attention

Actually we get a few most days but tend to ignore the ones from men as we're not looking to meet them at the mo.

Very rarely send them and if we do it's nearly always just in response to somebody that has sent us one and when we maybe don't have time to send a message, or don't want to 'make the first move'.

If we like a profile that's winked us we'll sometimes send a 'thanks for the wink' message to open up discussion - even so probably half of those don't get a response so don't beat yourself up that it's just single men that get ignored

I always reply to winks and occasionally send them. For me it is a simple way of saying hello and expressing interest.

However I never understand people who wink and then ignore a reply.

As for those who get thousands maybe they are a pain but I have never been that lucky.

I doubt we've had anywhere near a thousand in total since we joined at the start of the year. There's only been a couple of times when messages have got a bit out of control and for the most part that tends to be just a few playing message tennis - when it happens we've just changed our filters and used the block facility.

We do ignore 'hi, how are you' type messages. Would never wink and then ignore a response from the 'winkee' that's just odd!

I love winks ..sometimes someone browses your profile and you think mmmmmmmmmmm and then it's a bonus when you see they've winked, I'd rather a wink than a copied/pasted message. Really feel for guys in the amount of messages they have to send out and most get deleted or not replied to.

To me a wink is the same as fabbing a pic. Just showing that I like what I'm looking at. I don't really expect anything to come from it,and certainly don't take offence if no response to it

What's the problem - Winking is a facility to use on here, so why not do so? It's just a way to express some tentative interest.

If I receive a wink that doesn't interest me, then I'm free to ignore it.

If I get one that looks possibly interesting then I simply send a polite message saying thanks for the wink and assuring them that they are very welcome to write back and introduce themselves if they wish... Then the ball is back in their court.

Are simple manners and etiquette really so difficult to use?

TBH we ignore all winks.

If we are actively looking and interested in a profile we shall mail them and introduce ourselves.

We dont wink or friend request anyone to get noticed, we prefer the direct approach.

Most couples we are into have the same contact method as us and prefer a direct mail because it says so on their profile.

Read someones profile to see what they are interested in, and then contact them they way they like to be contacted.

A mail is always more personal if you make the effort with it, have a decent well written profile to back it up, and a decent selection of pics too.

I've had the same experience mate -

I don't respond to them anymore but I still wink at people I like the look and sound of ...it's rare that I get a response though, if ever.

I don't think people check them that regularly to be honest

Manners are not so high up on the importance list on this site but a wink says to me hi. I often send messages (including face pics) with a wink and more often than not get deleted with no reply!!!! It wouldnt take alot to say no thanks.

We love winks, it's a non invasive way of showing your interested or like the profile and generally will respond with either a wink or massage back,

Like we say on our profile we just take them as a compliment
