Hotel Ideas

Well I guess this question has been asked many times before ; booking hotels, who pays? What if your 'liason' is unable to book using a card (the usual, probably because they're married - their choice, but thats not the topic here). And say for example, we booked, I'd be concerned about a no show. Are there any places you can just turn up and book, without prior arrangement? I just have no idea how to go about this!

Just to add, its for a daytime meet - any ideas would be really helpful. Premier Inn type places are 2pm check in, which is a bit late really

Ipswich

Cost sharing should be agreed beforehand. I generally pay for the first time. If we meet again, the lady pays next time.

Have had a couple of no shows. Annoying, but you have to be adult about this.

2pm checkins are a pain, but you could meet one afternoon, go home (depending on your circumstances) and then return the next morning for round two.

Ibis usually let you check in from 11.00am or Noon, use them sometimes when travelling with work.

"Ibis usually let you check in from 11.00am or Noon, use them sometimes when travelling with work. "

That's handy because it usually puts pay to a daytime meet with a 3pm check in (sucks ... or not)

Don't forget a lot of hotels have a 11 check out as well.

We used to rent out rooms for the afternoon only for cash.

A lot of the times if you turn up and your rooms ready then you can check in.

If not they tend to room jump if you turn up early and sort your room. (thats if they are nice like we were lol)

If you book by debit- visa but explain you want to pay cash.

The card is just in case of any breakages x

i tend to book rooms when going out with work mates or seeing friends and sometimes its cheaper for a room than a taxi home

i usually pay by cash but the sites i use do require a credit debit card to secure your booking

Ibis Budget is a 12 noon check in, and I think a 12 noon checkout the next day!

Have used the Glasgow one when it was Etap.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

You can book in at midday at most Travelodges but it costs an extra tenner.

I have recently changed my way of arranging meets in order to minimise the risk of no shows and travel expenses etc...

If the meet is local and I am using a budget hotel where I can get a cheap room, then I am happy to take the risk and pay for the room entirely at my own expense.

However, if I have to travel a fair distance to attend the meet, then I would ask the gent to book the hotel, and shall contribute on my arrival.

In the event of me cancelling the meet at the last minute for whatever reason, I would honour my share of the hotel booking.

If the gent cancels at the last minute, then he has to pick up the entire hotel bill. I would always advise the gent to book a room that is changeable and refundable.

That's how I currently operate, and I always make it clear from the start my terms and conditions. It is up to the other party to decide whether to accept them or not.

I'm like you on this. I wouldn't expect the lady to pay if she's good enough to meet up with me

I always paid. Yes, there are a lot of Travelodges where you can check in at noon for an extra tenner. Also I have found the Camponiles and Ibis will do a noon check in if you ask. And locally to here the Restover (or the Legover as it is also known) at Hellaby does noon check ins. I have also done a return the following morning - great start to the day.

I looked at budget Ibis (Etap), but they are a little too basic for my liking - I'm a fussy girl don't ya know! lol

Thanks for your suggestion though x

Quite a few clubs that have overnight facilities will also hire rooms out on a daily/hourly basis.

We always book the hotel room, and then receive half of the cost when we meet.

Only been let down once, genuine cancellation, but we prefer to have the room booked in our name, incase we want to stay over, and we normally if not staying, go back for breakfast in the morning and check out

My mind is 19, my body 52 its not a good combination.

I wished when my body was 19 my mind had been 52 and wiser.

There are some things i can do now better and longer than when i was 19.

I just take things slower gentler and longer now.... (Is that a good thing)

If you book with booking dot com and select the correct option (not the room with free cancellation) they take your card details but don't charge it so you can pay cash on arrival.

You can get a pay as you go credit card and if you only keep a few quid on it there is enough to keep it active and book.

They usually cost around a tenner so stick another tenner on and bob's you mum's sisters hubby.

I seem to have digressed this thread... sorry.... however there is nothing wrong with Mrs T's body from the pics, in fact she looks yummy.

As for Mr T (not the A team one) i cannot comment, but with Mrs T i would make my body try to be 19 (or die in the process...)

No more on that subject on here though.

As for hotels i have never had a problem paying cash at IBIS, Prem Inn or travellodge.

They want the details of the card in case you leave the room stinking of smoke or damaged.

I do tend to pay for my business travel on a 'no refundable' basis its cheaper and work dates are fixed no ammendments needed.

If i book a hotel for play and some one lets me down i have a night away, a few beers and chill...
