That's because its the carbs that give you energy.....no carbs = no energy, simple as that.

Advice? Cut out bread, dairy and sauces.

Low to moderate carbs, oats, spuds, rice.

Raised protein, chicken, turkey, fish, egg whites.

Some veg, broccoli,carrots,peppers,peas.

Fruit in the mornings with porridge oats made with water/fruit juice not milk is a good energy giving breakfast with slow release carbs.

Break it all down into 5 meals per day,add some smart fats, no carbs after 8pm (you don't need energy when your winding down), last but not least.....plenty of water!

Have Fun!

Atkins is a very poor diet. Try adding in some fruit, apples are a very good addition, some berries, bananas for some carbs. It is not carbs that lead to weight/fat gain, but processed carbs like white rice, pasta, bread.

If you want to stick with atkins then drink more water, lots more

I lasted two days on this and hated it. I was so hungry for carbs after this I binged on sweets and then I threw up! It just wasn't for me. There are much better ways of losing weight than this in my opinion but good luck if you can stick with it.

more north lincs than mids!

why not just have a sensible diet? Meat and 2 veg for dinner, scrambled/boiled/poached egg for breakfast. Baked potato with tuna or something for lunch.

Cut down your bread/cheese intake.

If you are hungry eat fruit and/or veg and stock up on plenty of water.

If you stick to no carbs you should go into ketosis, this is where the body isn't getting enough energy from food so burns fat instead. Once in ketosis you should stop feeling hungry, and not tired as you are getting energy from burning fat. Drink 2-3 litres of water a day cx

^ This. The first week on Atkins is difficult. If you can get through that, it gets much easier, as long as you don't cheat. If you do cheat and take your body out of ketosis, it takes a while for the process to start again and you won't be burning much, if any, fat in that time.

You can check if you are in ketosis by buying some ketosticks. They are urine test strips which check for ketones.

Atkins is an extension of the diet a bodybuilder would use to cut, (though BBs cut out carbs and fat). Doing it short term, to drop body fat and gain muscle definition isn't a problem. Longer term, the picture is less clear with lots of disagreement between people. Some people do live a low carb lifestyle permanently though.

As others have said, drink plenty of water.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Atkins from people who have done it, and I think Dr Atkins died of a heart attack so not a good sign. I went veggie at the start of the year and recently gave up dairy as well and gotta say I've never felt better. No matter what diet you have though the most important thing is to drink water. My skin used to be very dry because I never drank enough water. Hot water and lemon every morning helps detox your body also.

Atkins died from an accident. He slipped on some ice.

I've done Atkins. I find it easy and had no bad side effects. Of course, it's not a lifestyle change so as soon as you go back to old habits, you regain weight.

Atkins was a clever doctor who understood the science and marketed it and got rich.

A low carb diet is well documented as far back a the 1800's by Banting.

I have been in ketosis for over four years and am now eight stones lighter. My blood lipids are fantastic (all of them; HDL LDL Trigs) and I'm healthier than I've ever been.

If you are hungry, you are not eating enough. Up your fats. Not the processed crap that comes from manufacturing but natural sources. Coconut, olive (the only vegetable oil a human shoud eat) dripping, lard and butter.

Think of it like this. If it has to be processed in some way, avoid it. Stick to a diet that consists of vegetables, protein and fats. Saturated fat will NOT kill you, despite what the government may say.

If you want to know the real truth, google Gary Taubes, Richard Bernstien and paleo diet.

People get fat in large part because they become resistant to insulin. Their fat cells don't release enough energy, so people eat until the point their fat cells become large enough they will. Dieting without fixing this will result in people putting it all back on again. Why atkins works is because you cant spike your blood sugar eating fat. Eating it long enough will fix the insulin resistance problem and you can lose weight.

diets like atkins, cambridge etc are just quick fix diets, they are ment to loose max weight in minimum time, they are not ment to be a long term diet or a life style change, they are ment for people to go on for a short while to loose that weight before a holiday, wedding etc thats why your hungry you have probably been on it longer that its designed for

Seriously and im not being a creep here lol but looking at your pics id say the diet you was on before was working well along with your working out so stick to what you was eating

Another point, not directed at the OP, as they clearly don't have much weight to lose, is that losing weight quickly is more likely to result in loose skin being left afterwards.

If you have a lot of weight to lose - enough that loose skin may be a worry - you're better to lose it slowly, through a lifestyle change that can be maintained long-term. This will give the body the best chance of adjusting to the weight loss, and of keeping the weight off permanently.
