"OK, I know I'm not a woman and can't offer the female perspective. But for what it's worth... I don't know what Club Play is like, but at any club rule 1 will be "no means no". If anyone gives you any trouble, don't hesitate to contact staff. They can deal with things if they know about them at the time, but there's less they can do if they only find out at the end of the night. Bring a few outfit changes. You want something you feel good in. As you've never been before, you might be tempted to go for the more conservative side to start with. You will feel more comfortable as the night goes on, and it's good to have something to change into if you start feeling a little over-dressed. Again, I don't know that club, but I expect there'll be lockers to keep things in. Some clubs are dress-down on entry - it's best to know that in advance. Don't drink too much. A little can lower your inhibitions if you need help with that, but you want to stay in control. I've seen people over-do it and it's not good. Be sociable. A big smile and a "hi, I'm new, mind if I join you?" is all the ice-breaker you need. At the clubs I'm familiar with, the first couple of hours are the social part. This is a good time to start getting to know the regulars and scout out a few potentials for later. If you go on a night that allows single men, a new single woman will attract attention. Probably lots of it. Don't be shy about telling people you're not interested. Of course, if you are interested, don't be shy about that either. And finally, have fun. Clubs are great. There's every chance you'll have an amazing night." When you say “dress down on entry”, dress down to what? Does it mean you have to be naked? That would really put me off! Haven’t been to a club but might be dragged by a friend at some point

" When you say “dress down on entry”, dress down to what? Does it mean you have to be naked? That would really put me off! Haven’t been to a club but might be dragged by a friend at some point " I haven't been to one of those clubs myself. But "dress down" usually means lingerie or something like that. Not fully dressed, but it doesn't have to be naked (at the club I go to, people are usually only naked when they're playing or in the hot tub). Let yourself get dragged. I'm sure you'll love it.

I think your local one townhouse, you only have to dress down when you go to the play area upstairs rest of the club you can stay dressed.

It's kind of like going to a normal pub or club a lot of its all social Give it a go if you like it you like it, if you don't then cross it off and move on to the next thing

" I wouldn’t have the nerves to walk about in lingerie on my first visit! I thought it was like a bar and I could wear a nice dress! Haha " It depends on the club. The ones I know you can stay fully dressed the whole night if you want (you can't visit the play rooms, but you can still have a great night just socialising in the bar). But I do recommend having the option - things that you couldn't imagine doing now might end up feeling completely natural once you're there. My first visit took me from "would never let anyone see me without a shirt on" to sitting naked in the hot tub with a group of strangers, and my first time playing was in front of an audience. I would never have dreamed I'd be doing that. You don't have to do that though. There's a whole range of options. Clubs cater to all kinds of people at all stages in their swinging life.

"First time I went to a club albeit with my partner, I was wearing a really mini mini skirt and a loose low cut top. I was told by the staff my clothing was too much and was asked to strip down to my underwear. Didn't really have a problem stripping. Don't know if that's the rule on all clubs as from then on always changed to sexy lingerie once there " No in general they fall under 4 categories. Dress down upon entry Dress down after a certain time Dress down if you go in certain area's Stay dressed in all area's

"I presume no phones allowed? If dressed down... where do the condoms go? I guess sticking em down my bra works lol " I would not go to a club that allowed phones. I'd be surprised if any do. Phones go in the locker and stay there. Some clubs provide condoms in each room (I know Townhouse does). Some people prefer to carry their own in any case. You can carry a toiletry bag with condoms, lube, and toys. I made myself a little pouch that clips onto the wrist-strap for the key. If there are any fashion entrepreneurs reading, I reckon there's a market for club lingerie with pockets.

I’m undecided at the moment, they are definitely a lot more keen to go than I am. I don’t mind going and having a drink in the bar, I’ve agreed to that but none of us had considered dress codes! Glad I saw this thread You can stay dressed in the bar at Townhouse if you wish. It will empty out as the night goes on but it is a great club. Honestly you will have a great time. Most people wonder what they were so nervous of once they get there. Btw you totally have nothing to be nervous about charging by you pictures Thankyou It’s mad because I live in a bikini, but lingerie is a whole other kettle of fish. I’d feel really uncomfortable in underwear. Strange isn’t it You can wear your bikini lol just pretend your sunbathing it does get hot in some of these places To be fair no ones going to be dissapointed lol" Haha thanks I’ve got a nice dress that’s not over the top but not a day dress so was going to wear that and hope that’s ok. Don’t want to stand out like a sore thumb! Do ladies get really dressed up? Full makeup and heels?

" I wouldn’t have the nerves to walk about in lingerie on my first visit! I thought it was like a bar and I could wear a nice dress! Haha It depends on the club. The ones I know you can stay fully dressed the whole night if you want (you can't visit the play rooms, but you can still have a great night just socialising in the bar). But I do recommend having the option - things that you couldn't imagine doing now might end up feeling completely natural once you're there. " Thankyou. I assume this info is found on the club website? I’d like to be able to keep my clothes on for my first visit, I wouldn’t go if I thought I had to strip off on entry, I don’t have the nerve for that haha Yes it's usually available on the website, have a look at the club section on here will have links to them there. I think your local one townhouse, you only have to dress down when you go to the play area upstairs rest of the club you can stay dressed. That’s where my friend wants to go. Her and her husband want to have a look, god knows why I have to be dragged along, safety in numbers I think You are welcome to pm me if I can help with anything also a woman is never made to feel uncomfortable in dress down you could dress down in your nightie that your comfortable with or just use a towel some clubs do require dress down as soon as you go in some don't and some allow you dressed till a certain time until you have to dress down but club play as said you can stay dressed all night as long as your not going into the playrooms .... and on your first time they will always give you a tour if you tell them you have never been before.... you do this fully dressed lol Best advice I can give is always check the website you can even ring them if your unsure xx Thankyou, that’s helpful I’ll likely just sit at the bar while they have alook round. As long as I’ve got a drink in my hand, I’ll be happy " Check how the club operate the bar, some clubs operate a “bring your own” and you put it behind the bar and you pay for mixers. As someone had previously mentioned, don’t drink too much! Seen some horrid situations caused by too much alcohol.

"Hair in this heat is an issue!! All I want to do is put it in a bun " I know!! My hair is very long and goes slightly below my bra stap so it’s often stuck to my back! I wouldn’t tie it up on a night out though, I wouldn’t feel nice. Some girls look gorgeous with hair up, not me

There's every chance you'll have an amazing night. When you say “dress down on entry”, dress down to what? Does it mean you have to be naked? That would really put me off! Haven’t been to a club but might be dragged by a friend at some point It's usually lingerie or towel Thankyou. I assume this info is found on the club website? I’d like to be able to keep my clothes on for my first visit, I wouldn’t go if I thought I had to strip off on entry, I don’t have the nerve for that haha " Xtasia is more of a night club feel, lots of clubs don’t require you to dress down on entry …chams does … but you can still wear something a bit racy… you don’t have to go nude… I would add that it’s nothing like as intimidating as I imagined it would be ..,and you can sit in the corner and watch the world go by… I’m sure you’ll have a blast … folks are sociable , and chilled , in my experience

Nothing worse than turning up fully done up to find everyone else casual (that’s happened to me 100 times!) " This made me laugh - it also happens to me all the time but I never worry about it Not that my make-up is very strong, it is probably the overall style and the jewellery as I strive to be a real life Pin-Up. It is amazing how quickly you can get used to it - at least I did Once I assembled a full Pin-Up wardrobe wearing pearls, stunning dresses and fur feels completely natural because I simply have no other clothes. As Oscar Wilde so aptly put it - you can never be overdressed or overeducated! And if others are much more casual, too bad for them. No one prevents them from making an effort

"Hair in this heat is an issue!! All I want to do is put it in a bun " Heat and humidity for sure. When I go to naturist's spas or to a party that has a jacuzzi, I do the same Pin curls as I usually do but put my hair up rather high. That works quite well for me but everyone's hair is different of course.

I’d like to be able to keep my clothes on for my first visit, I wouldn’t go if I thought I had to strip off on entry, I don’t have the nerve for that haha Xtasia is more of a night club feel, lots of clubs don’t require you to dress down on entry …chams does … but you can still wear something a bit racy… you don’t have to go nude… I would add that it’s nothing like as intimidating as I imagined it would be ..,and you can sit in the corner and watch the world go by… I’m sure you’ll have a blast … folks are sociable , and chilled , in my experience I’d prefer more of a nightclub situation but my friend doesn’t want to travel so it looks like it’ll be townhouse. I might flake out and tell them to go without me and feedback, let me know what it was like. They’re very keen, I really don’t need to be there propping up the bar while they look around haha They also have a tendency to wander off and not come back for far longer than was agreed, I need new friends haha " I wouldn't worry about people are usually very friendly and welcoming at clubs in my limited experience, there's always someone to chat too. I heard Vicky on a pod cast once she seems very nice I'm sure the club will look after you.

"What do you wear on your feet if dress down ? I get for females they can wear nice heels with underwear but as a male that would look odd imo " Take a pair of flip flops with you

Strange isn’t it You can wear your bikini lol just pretend your sunbathing it does get hot in some of these places To be fair no ones going to be dissapointed lol Haha thanks I’ve got a nice dress that’s not over the top but not a day dress so was going to wear that and hope that’s ok. Don’t want to stand out like a sore thumb! Do ladies get really dressed up? Full makeup and heels? Just think sexy club atire. Little Black dress that sort of thing. Ah ok, thanks. Nothing worse than turning up fully done up to find everyone else casual (that’s happened to me 100 times!) This made me laugh - it also happens to me all the time but I never worry about it Not that my make-up is very strong, it is probably the overall style and the jewellery as I strive to be a real life Pin-Up. No one prevents them from making an effort " Fabulous!!! I love the pin up look, it’s definitely one of the hottest looks. Love it The amount of times I’ve been done up to the nines and others have worn jeans and converse haha so many times

Oh great! Thanks " Townhouse is great! Really well run, not putting up with any unacceptable behaviour, clean etc. Vicky and Jim and the crew who run it are great. The bar is also well stocked and good prices, with a great gin selection if you're into that. On most nights you can stay fully dressed downstairs, and only have to dress down (lingerie, play Wear etc) if you go upstairs. The bar area is not for play except on certain events, which are clearly indictated (Raw etc) Hope this helps! Xx

"On dressing down; there comes a point where it actually feels more awkward to be fully dressed than to be in lingerie. Never been to club play, but most of the ones I know are tidal - people move to the bar, then to get changed, then to the bar, then to play and so on, and you’ll see the bar fill and empty through the night. As long as I’ve got a drink in my hand, I’ll be happy " Some clubs don’t have an alcohol license, you can take your own. Their website will tell you. X love honey have some appropriate club wear you can dress down into. There really isn’t any judgment on what people wear or look like, but I understand your fear of getting derobed! I would generally wear a nice going out outfit to go to a club in and get dressed down if I feel like it or not. (Haven’t been to a club yet with stricter rules). Enjoy your experience.
