Does this actually work for anyone? Those 'I'm in your area today....how about it' type messages?

I can understand it if you have put out a meet request or a status saying you are looking to meet today, but a normal approach?

I'm afraid that just ends up as an easy decision to block and delete for me.

hiding from cock pics.

It's really funny though because when I asked them whereabouts in my area they are, and they have absolutely no clue where my area is....

I will, rather embarrassingly, admit that I sent a message or two like that when I joined and I can confirm that it did not in fact work In hindsight, daft thing to do, but you live and learn!

Male half here, it's quite funny I drive around a lot for work and sometimes leave the who's nearby on. The volume of messages we get saying 'your close to me, fancy meeting' is untrue.

we would never meet someone who says that to us, shouts of desperation, plus we like to meet people fairly local, so repeat meets are possable

I feel the same but if you tell them this they promise that even though they live 200 miles away they can regularly be near-by.

It still a no from me.

In all honesty, if it came at the right time from someone that met our criteria then it would work for us. Char has fatigue and pain issues and sometimes we'll have a meet planned and she'll rest up the day before, have a bath and get prepared only for the guy to cancel or ghost us. If someone happened to message in the following few hours we'd probably say yes as we don't like wasting our few opportunities.

But in general, we just delete them.

It’s always truck drivers with me, parked up nearby and thinking I’ll nip out after midnight.

We’ve been tempted to a guys hotel room on a couple lf occasions so it does work for us.

Usually we like some chat, a social drink and the arrange play for another night, but sometimes we’re feeling spontaneous and if the guys already paid for the hotel then we go for it.

Worst case we don’t get along we can just go home without playing.

Always have a look who’s nearby and as you can see from my Veri’s had some great meets with couples and females when working away.

Some couples like the fact you don’t live in the same village and can stalk them in Tesco express.

No it doesn't work on me, never has. I'm not going to just drop what I'm doing just because some random guy says he's in my area. Time to myself is more important x

No problem with asking, just like there is no problem responding “No” or not responding at all depending on how you roll

For once I understand that messages of this type might frustrating - however because I travel often, I change my location by stating it in my status oe headline location

I do that just in the case that someone might be free - simple as that

It might be wrong, but sometimes off the cuff meets, unplanned last min meets , can sometimes be wonderful surprises

J xx

I can’t think you get much success with it, but how about if you’re going to be in their area in a week or two, would it be worth a message?

Not when it specifically says not in my profile!

Clearly not, it makes no sense to approach someone who has asked not to be approached.

It's never worked for me, whenever I've been away with a hotel room to myself for one or two nights, but maybe that was maybe a local issue with Liverpool and Birmingham? I altered my location to show local, listed up a 'Hotel meet' for the dates, and posted regular status updates on the run up, but never any luck for me. A female friend of mine has met several guys staying in Lakes hotels though, and has another planned for next week, so it does work for some
