FabSwingers.com forum: Fake Messages?

Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me, as I'm still not sure what happened.

On Saturday morning, I logged on to several messages, from people I didn't know, saying how disgusting I was, I should be kicked off the site and they were reporting me! Apparently there are screengrabs circulating of some pretty revolting and threatening messages I was supposed to have sent.

Obviously, I didn't send them, so they're either fake, someone's stolen my images or possibly someone hacked my account (I think the latter's unlikely but I've changed my password). Anyway, I haven't seen the messages, as no-one will show me. I've reached out to Admin for help but they seem pretty hands-off about the whole thing. However, I assume the fact that my account is still live shows they've checked and found me to be innocent?

Friends on here have said I should just close my account and start again but 1) I'll lose all my contacts and (few) verifications and 2) That doesn't get to the bottom of what happened and so what would prevent it happening again?

I'm really unhappy about the whole situation! Why would someone do this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

How many messages did you get, did they all seem to come from very similar profiles and did you respond to any of them?

My personal thinking on this is, there were no screen shots of messages from you circulating, the messages you received came from the same person using different profiles or a small group of people who for some reason have taken against you. The warning bell for me is that nobody has shown you the screenshot.

Thanks for you reply - that's a possibility I hadn't considered. I received six messages, all from Kent, Essex and Surrey. However, I didn't know any of them. I replied by protesting my innocence and asking to see some screengrabs.

So anonymous profiles on fab all messaged you at the same time telling you your a naughty boy, were all profiles new? Have you pissed in someone’s pinot grigeo? Report the profiles to admin.

Well if I'm accused of something I expect to see evidence. You know you haven't done this, therefore they have none. I do know that admin only ever take action if there is proof of wrongdoing so they wouldn't have taken any against you

I hope you reported the messages, especially if they were threatening or abusive in any way

Thanks for your message. The messages I received all seemed pretty real profiles to me, which adds to the mystery. I'm not sure who I've annoyed. I always try to be polite but as we know, people are strange.

The messages weren't particularly offensive - just telling me off! It all seems quite bizarre. Hadn't thought of reporting them.

Admin are not "hands off" They advised you to report so they can check it out

In my experience, people who send mails this way but won't provide the evidence to you are normally malicious or trying to get you on side for something

It is best to report
