Evening all. Just wondering what peoples thoughts were on asking for negative covid LFT test before a meet?

That is how it is looking nightclubs are going to reopen. Do you think the swinger clubs will be doing the same?

I like the idea, though it could mean guests waiting in their car, whilst it processes. Simpler to check in those with vaccine app confirmation and test the others, if it's really busy.

You would probably have to do one on site and wait for it to process if they go down that route.

Anyone could turn up with their own negative test in hand but you wouldn't know when they had done it.

Don’t think testing on site is practical I know when we test for work you have register your results and you get a confirmation txt from NHS and you have show the result txt before you can go on site

I wouldn't attend any club that didn't have some sort of checks to ensure it was safe.

LFT is just a simple test to make sure people don't have the virus. Nothing to do with vaccine passports etc.

Tbh I wouldn't want to attend events with anyone who had a problem with testing to ensure they were covid free!

Plastic! I hate the amont of plastic waste that comes with the kits. Being a household with school age & collage students we have lots of kits.

How long is twice weekly testing going to continue? Supermarkets are banning the plastic reuseable bags. But we've upped our plastic use with kits and disposible marsks.

We tend to think that there is no problem doing the LFT to get into an event or club and it would almost be a courtesy to do one prior to a private meet. I think we would be reluctant to meet with anyone who refused to take a test in the short term once things open up more.

As has been mentioned though, people are happy to engage in unprotected sex so everyone will be different and its not for us to just other actions. They can make their choices and we will make ours.

The problem Will be about percentages of those for LFT and those against..

On the one hand you are going to get people who defend various rights not to be vaccinated then saying they now also have a right to refuse to be tested too.. Which I think is a bit beyond the pale as it does concern and help to safeguard everyone's health doesn't it ..

These people though will I guess still want to have the same freedoms to go out and socialise where they like when everyone else does won't they?

The direct opposite of that will be people who agree to testing before entry to places and follow up tests that go with it will naturally not want to go anywhere if some people don't have to do that or won't do that to enter the same place. Pub, club etc

The clubs and pubs need the business so I would think will be insisting on some sort of proof of being Covid free.. Typically on the door with a 30 minute wait unless someone has had one at home in the last day or so and can prove it .Typical of the Circus experiment in Liverpool this weekend.

I genuinely would not feel comfortable if entry to social events etc was made 'optional'. Surely at least for now it needs to be mandatory?

I do not see those who keep refusing testing being allowed to do what everyone else does after this month .. There would be an uproar and a lot of ' that's unfair' wouldn't there?? I wouldn't wish to be at the same event or same building as someone who could not prove their Covid health status

The vaccination is one thing but testing needs to be made law think. Particularly now as holidays abroad are being teased at us too.

Isn't it just a case of getting on with doing what needs done so we can all get back to our lives again.

I’m glad that there are as many of you willing to do a LFT.

Gives me hope that we may swing again this year.

I know it is a preference thing, but know that both myself and Regina will only be attending an event if LFT tests are required, or if going to a private meet.

That being said, at the moment I still can’t see it happening for a while yet. Not until about 3 weeks after we have had both jabs.

I'm more than happy to show my vaccination card to anyone I may meet on here. Ive had both my jabs. Due to relocating from Norfolk I have had both types of vaccine, Astra and Pfizer!! xx

I’ve had both jabs and would be happy to show my vaccination card to a club management and take any tests required for entry. I am still cautious enough not to go full-on straight away. It is likely I’ll monitor the situation and respond accordingly.

I’m tested at work and three times in the past two months I’ve given a positive test, only to retest negative straight after.

its to easy to fake, whos to say you took the test not someone else, i think we are going to have to rely on old fashioned comon scence, some thing we as a nation have been lacking for years, it costs nothing, and works most of the time

Problem with the LF tests is that they're open to abuse, especially when they're done at home without supervision / control.

When done at home it is up to the individual to register the results - which means that even if you get a positive result you can register it as a negative.

I can only talk for our club but we are awaiting guidance from the Government, Blackpool Council & Public Health England which we suspect we will get soon after the local elections.

Until then it's all hypothetical and people second guessing what will be happening which is no help to our club and suspect other clubs may feel the same.

The ammout of messages we get asking what restrictions will be in place and will we be making people take tests or be making sure people have had the vaccine

Answer - We simply dont know as yet and can't impose our own checks without guidance on the legal aspects from the government as it maybe seen as discrimination and even be illegal.

We like other clubs will have to abide by what ever frame work and or any legal restrictions imposed after 21st June by our government to open, what ever they are.

Doesn't both us. If it were a condition of entry we would (we do in an employment setting anyway. I think the statistics and lack of prevalence of the virus in the not so distant future will make most others not give a dam either. Especially considering no one cares about test results for other viruses that are marginally present within the population.

Just had our first jab in France, the second earmarked in a month.

Document is immediately issued by the Police/Pompiers to say whether you had one or two vacs and then fed into the system for all comings and goings, in and out of the country.

A lot more police/gendarmes here and you are obliged to always carry some id. so cross checking is inevitable.

Clubs will not open here this year but no doubt some official form will be issued eventually to carry in future for most types of public interactions

Having unprotected sex is a much safer activity in health risk terms than being overweight ,smoking , drinking alcohol or not taking regular exercise . Im not advocating ‘bareback’ but the risk of catching gonorrhoea etc pales into insignificance compared to the risk of dying very early from lifestyle choices like obesity and smoking and alcohol .

I test before work and before I go anywhere important. I visited my mum on Sunday and all of us tested to make sure we didn’t take it there. Have absolutely no problem taking a test before going somewhere and I don’t understand why people are against it unless they’re worried it’s going to be positive and they won’t be able to attend.

You can walk into certain chemists/pharmacies and pick up a pack of LFT’s. It takes 30 minutes to get a result and results go of to the NHS amd you get a text

Show this at the door and you’re in

I think the tests are better than vaccine proof. Vaccines don't stop you getting or passing it on. It just seems to lessen the symptoms.

We for one would not think someone with two jabs is safe for that reason. But a test before is a better idea.

Maybe we should stop using the a cine as a description of the jab, it's a little miss leading!

It needn’t take any longer at all… when you turn up, you pick up a test from a table outside, test yourself in the car, wait, then present your neg-result at reception on your way in (or go home again to quarantine)

This wouldn’t take any long than normal.

If the club want to avoid people bringing an old neg-res then they could simply date/stamp all the little plastic test result widget beforehand.

I think the only way forward is testing! Vaccines only work for the individual and don’t stop you catching or spreading! tests are freely available just test at home before you leave register your result with the nhs get your confirmation txt done! I know it’s a system open to abuse but what’s the point in faking a result? If only to endanger others. I know some people still think it’s all a scam especially in the young generations and still see it has a boomer doomer virus so unless we want clubs full of the over 50s I know my mrs wouldn’t be happy about that

then testing it is! All a club can do is follow the guidelines and show they’ve done everything possible to ensure the safety of there patrons it looks like it’s a system others will use like nightclubs and concerts so if it’s good enough for them then it’ll work for clubs

and we can have fun again

You can get 7 or 9 at a time I’m not sure applying for 200 for a swinging club is ethical. Better idea bringing your own.

I don’t think it’ll happen, puts the onus and responsibility on venues and not us.

Plus, if you’ve been covid + you can show on them for months- obviously in the work place this would be known and proved- wouldn’t in areas like clubs.

Fully vaccinated but doubt that’ll be a pre requisite either xx
