Advice from ladies please.

Checking if this is normal plus is there a way to stop the spotting ?

I’m now on second injection mentioned to the nurse she said it’s normal body adjusting, but had daily spotting since week 9, obviously when allowed to meet be embarrassing if still like this and just want normal if possible

It took 3 months for things to settle down for me and even after that it was still regularly spotting so I came off it sadly, hope it improves for you

Before I had my son, the depo was fantastic. After having my son, I spotted and had horrific periods. Never. Again.

Prebaby, no side affects. Post baby, weight gain, bloating, headaches.

Oh, the joy

Her x

Used it for years with no issues from day one , had a break , went back on it and it never settled ... swapped for the coil

Had the same issue. Constant spotting. Swapped to the coil and haven't had a period in about 7 years. It's great

Just be aware this can have emotional side effects too.. I got paranoia and panic attacks and depression on depo.

Just keep an eye out as I didn't link it to depo for way too long...stopped it and got better very quickly

You could try the implant if you haven’t already?

I was on depo for years n years, before the bone density issue was researched. I now have bone issues but not major thankfully.

If you don’t feel right on it then come off and try something new sweet x

I had 2 shots of depo and ended up spotting for an entire year.

The nurse said after the first shot that even though I'd been spotting for 3 months, it would probably settle soon. Stupidly I had the second shot and it didn't stop. After the second shot I spotted for at least another 9 months.

Never again!

Didn't get any spotting or bleeding at all on depo.

It did turn me into a psycho bitch from hell that would go mental at a hello I perceived to be in the wrong tone.

It took my housemate taking a knife out of my hand after he saw my knuckles go white, I was gripping it that hard, for us to put 2 and 2 together.

Same. Anything hormonal is disastrous. Bleeding two weeks out of every four, and crying at everything. It just wasn’t worth it.

Diaphragm for the win!

Or vasectomy coupons for all the men in one's life!

The cramps on depo were the worst for me! I literally was crampy the second the needle went in. That's without the anger, I was nasty!

I have had the nexplanon implant in since my last baby when I was 27, so nearly 10 years and it suits me down to the ground. I've gained weight but that could be the fact I'm a greedy bitch anyway!! But apart from that I'm lovely now like snow white lol, I don't have any periods at all (have had maybe 5 in that time) I don't get cramps or anything. Everybody reacts differently to different hormones. Progesterone seems to level me out.

I never got on with anything that had hormones in it. Depo made me put weight on, implant made me seriously loco, copper coil was better, but had really heavy periods.

So I just stopped, my health/mood is much more stable!

I had the same, spotting lasted about 6 months and omg it gave me the worst mood swings and acne I’ve been left with horrible scars from it, I decided to have the copper coil instead and honestly best thing I ever done, as it has no hormones I’m now regular no mood swings and no acne xxx
