Good evening fellow fabbers,

Anyone know where you can buy a good sturdy bed, we are on our third in two years,

Is their a market for beds designed for group fun?

Asking for a friend obviously

We have tried that option but we find the “trainspotting look not to be popular in the swinging community

You need to make it all fenshui and style the whole room into a Japanese theme then it will be more authentic and not out of place

Go for good quality, sturdy wooden beds, preferably with proper base instead of slats. If you can afford it, invest in brand new oak bed. Or you can get one second-hand, either in some charity shops (not an option at present, unfortunately) or online, places like Gumtree, eBay or Facebook Marketplace.

Depends what you want to spend! You can 'upgrade' a standard divan box base by fitting a stronger top, get some 18mm MDF cut to size at a DIY store and screw it over the standard top. Looks exactly the same but far sturdier. Someone suggested an oak bed frame, great idea! There's a couple of companies on fleabay who make them for reasonable amounts.

I speak from experience so I understand your pain!

The sturdiest bed I have ever owned was an iron bed by Laura Ashley- not the newer ones as they are flimsier, but the ones that come in headboard, baseboard and sprung slatted base. The base just slots into the boards and the weight of the cast iron means that once constructed they are bombproof. Look for them on EBay.

We had ours made specially by a local furniture company. We've had it over 15 years & it's still just as sturdy as new. It's pine, but the corner posts are 6" square & the frame itself is about 4" × 2". So perhaps the solution is to go bespoke.

I used to have a bed made from reclaimed oak railway sleepers.. Never so much as a creak from it, whatever we got up to!

I used to work in a factory making beds, if you want something different its best to get it custom build. The regular beds are for regular fun

Wayfair have metal framed beds.. sturdy as fuck and like £150ish and always on sale.

Make sure you get the ones that have the horizontal bars that run along the floor. The other one with legs is hood, just not as sturdy.

Perfect for straps. can even weld connectors if you need.

We had a £3000 hülsta super king size bed (I say had, as the misuss wanted a new bed to go with the bed after she decorated it), the bed was excellent for threesomes and foursomes, the only issues was no tie points.

We now have a hand built wrought iron kind size bed with plenty of tie points and doesn't make a sound

I had a gun metal frame bed and got rid of it 2 yrs ago when we moved house, we had our divan bed 2 months and my knee went through it, so a metal frame bed is the answer

I've always said you can't go wrong with a good solid wood bed. Easy to make action related repairs to and strengthen with the aid of some ironmongery, a drill and occasional extra wood. Also easy to add shackle points etc, if you so desire.
