Sorry, I'm sure you're trying to help but this is just pointless.

Suppose I don't like mushrooms, what then? I don't live near anywhere that sells turkey sausages, what then? I work somewhere that makes having sliced strawberries and half a cup of yoghurt for a mid-morning snack impractical, what then?

If you want to help people with their diets then teach them how to eat well. Give them hints and tips, recipe ideas and teach them the principles involved.

If anyone from Fab tries to follow this plan to the letter (and 20 quid says they won't) they'll find it's too much hassle sourcing all the ingredients and making all that stuff to take to work, or they'll have to work an occasional backshift and be stumped on what to have for dinner - in short, they'll give up in no time at all.

Eating a decent diet isn't about martyring yourself and it's not rocket science, either. But all you're doing here is frightening people off by making them think it has to be a ton of hard work and that they can't work it out for themselves.

Isn't that the 'Biggest Loser 7-Day Diet Plan', written by nutritionist Cheryl Forberg and published in Ladie's Home Journal?

If you acknowledge where you copy things from it generally helps people check for more information.

Any successful diet needs to be continued for ever. I changed mine four years ago and I shall have to continue on it for the rest of my life.

Stay away from low or reduced fat items, these always have sugar added.

Carbohydrate is addictive. A diet that is based on food found naturally and not processed is the one that works.

Fat and protein keep you full, add to that lots of green veggies and you've cracked it.

In the absence of carbs, saturated fat does not make you fat or increase your cholesterol.

Ok after reading this I have to say that this is probably the best try and pull thread I have seen in ages.

As for the rest, I would recommend that anyone taking this seriously PLEASE don't.

There are so many things wrong with the advice he has given and there are dangers to you as an individual.

If you wish to lose weight join a gym and speak to a specialist, not someone trying to get laid and giving bad advice.

And before anyone says how would we know, we are both training and on strict diets under a qualified dietitian and a separate fitness instructor. Also our diets and training plans are nothing like each others as we they are based on age, weight, and personal goals.

For all that are trying to tone up, lose weight, keep fit, or what ever you are doing good luck to you all.

The best tip of all that does not require any special shopping is to eat less, exercise more and avoid bulking food - bread, spuds and pasta.

The amount of fail in this post astounds me.

Carbohydrate is addictive????????

Carbs are foods that do not have any protein properties in them. In short, they are vegetables, fruit, bread, pasta etc.

Fat and protein keep you full? LMFAO!

Protein is not an energy source for your body like carbs are. People on say the Atkins diet go through hell as their body changes to the protein intake and lack of carbs.

Less energy is the result and it stays that way.

Saturated fat is bad for you mmk, I am not even going to argue any more of this ridiculous post.

You talking about ketosis? It's not hell at all to get into a steady state of ketosis - on say the Cambridge Weight Plan.

Carbs can be addictive.

Anything is ok in moderation.

I've been in ketosis for four years. 80% of my diet is saturated fat. I eat less than 20g of carbs a day and they come from dairy and green vegetables, so not quite Palio.

My blood lipids, taken in June are lower than the recommendations set out by NICE.

I'm eight stones lighter and all those niggling ailments that creep up as we get older have gone. Oh, and not one second of organised exercise.

No I was not being rude, I was being blunt - there's a difference.

"It's free" is just not an excuse for bullshit peddling. If you kick someone in the face that's free too, does that make it ok?

The main point I made is that there are no bits to pick from, did you miss that bit or just prefer to ignore the content of my post in favour of accusing me of being rude?

Popcorn is excellent if you want a snack and are on a diet, not toffee or any butterkist stuff but salted and sweet are not too bad , it tricks your body into thinking you are full, sounds weird but it's true (google it) obviously as with everything take it in moderation .

So many fad diets and different opinions on this subject , just beware supermarkets are muti million pound companies for a reason, they are clever and smart, low fat or reduced fat can still be shit as it might still be like 20% fat , read the labels and check .

I've been eating lean for about 6 months now , my weekly shop is £40 and have enough energy to train 4/5 days a week .

I follow the Dolce Diet , it's a book from MMA nutritionist Mike Dolce , easy meals and plenty to keep you full.

I could copy and paste the book for you all

The Dolce diet is an awesome diet used maily by fighters .. There is also a palio diet that seems to be good for people building stronger bodies.

Iv not had much call for people wanting veggie diets but I will look round see if there are any good ones.

Multi-gyms are ok but they tend to go un used.. Ill find a few good ab workout youtube videos to post on here. Hope they help

You won't get a six pack unless you are eating a healthy diet to lean out. Doesn't matter how much exercise you do if you aren't eating right.

This diet won't work for everyone, what about vegetarians and people that don't like certain things on the list? The best dietary advice is to eat a good breakfast, a small lunch and a dinner. Cut out all snacks, sugar in tea and coffee, use only skimmed or semi-skimmed milk, don't eat bread. As much fruit as you can eat and plenty of water or fruit and peppermint teas.

Do not under any circumstances follow any kind of a diet - common sense is the only way to go

The part about not eating snacks isn't really true. You should be eating about 6 or 7 times a day (Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack before bed). Cut down on carbs before gym days but make sure you eat carbs before and after a gym session.

Of course the snacks shouldn't be just any old rubbish. Should be things like Beef Jerky, protein shakes, unsalted nuts etc etc

The Dolce Diet is for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans ,lots of options .

Snacks are a must as a previous post mentioned .

Might sound funny to some but by trying not to eat or cutting out meals it makes it harder to lose weight , you should try and eat every 3 hours, a snack can be a handful of nuts, a yogurt and banana or any fruit , the thing is if you have these snack for two reasons . 1. It boosts the metabolism 2. If you don't snack your more likely to get cravings and grab something sugary and not so good but remember water is the kin of diet , drink bucket loads of it .

I'd just like to point out that my views and opinions are from what I've learned and researched over the years and for the most part from the Dolce Diet book , I'm not a salesman for it and I don't stick to it religiously , it's a diet book by name but more of a lifestyle you an stick too and not a fad diet but it's simple and all the meals are in it and how to make them and it's really is inexpensive for the food.

And also, depending on your goals, fruit can be quite bad for you due to the amount of sugar in it.

See, doesn't matter what your advice is, and what works for you, it won't work for others, and someone will always be along to contradict you!!

I think it's a brilliant post. A lot of useful information. No I won't follow the diet but yes I've picked up some tips so thank you.

My 'ffs' comment yesterday was aimed at the haters. I was pissed off that some people can be so negative.

Makes me laugh when people jibe at muscley/ fit people. It's just jealousy. I know how hard it is to get and stay fit. I'm too lazy for that malarkey but I'll give great respect to anyone else that does.

I didn't say that everyone was a hater or negative, but some people were in my opinion.

I also see what you mean.

Yeah, I work night shifts so that'd put me on about a packet of crisps a day. Fine if you're a milkman but not everybody is.

Still amazes me the way some people can't seem to grasp that we all have different requirements.

What's funny is that he doesn't even have a good body, just that badly disproportionate look a lot of bodybuilder types get because there are certain muscles they prefer training.

Hope they help "

Seriously ??? Don't eat after 5.30pm ???

If you don't fuel your body you do know that it'll take what it needs from your muscles before anything right ??

"your body will use the food as it needs it, when it runs out it will start tapping into your muscles and breaking it down to help fuel your body, so your actually slowing your gains if your trying to add muscle" the last paragraph is taken from bodybuilding.com

Have a evening meal, just dont go arb mad, then before bed have a snack to keep your metabolism burning , Greek yoghurt for example is superb, zero fat and shot load a protein .

"Jealous much?!! "

Haha, are we back in primary school or something? The guy isn't six years old, he doesn't need his mummy to tell him that all the bullies are just jealous.

"This diet won't work for everyone, what about vegetarians and people that don't like certain things on the list?

Should be things like Beef Jerky, protein shakes, unsalted nuts etc etc"

The meal part is definitely correct. I had an active job till a bit more than a year ago and had to eat 7 full size meals a day to maintain muscle. After which my work mainly involved sitting down. I've since changed it so I eat as many times, but every second meal is now snack size instead of full size, and my body is returning to my previous pattern at least.

And as for multi-gyms or any kind of machine I find them best for when recovering from injury as they isolate the muscles worked. For any other workout though, its free weights every time...
