So as a single guy you finally strike up a conversation with a woman on here and initially 3 or 4 messages are exchanged. Then you don't get a response for ages (talking days here rather than hours) and you're left wondering if she's not bothered/if better eye candy has come along/or "she" is indeed a "he" and he's finished wanking/trolling.

So....

1) How long do people leave it before they ask to chat via Skype, Kik, Snapchat etc? Personally if I think there's a connection of sorts I find it pointless using Fab to chat as it's not exactly user friendly for messaging. Then if you do get on go ahead and swap numbers (after some sort of face to face contact via video call).

2) And on the other hand, how long do you leave it before you assume someone isn't interested after initial chat? No-one wants to be a stalker and women do get hounded on here but I guess it's a fine line between showing you're keen and wasting your breath on someone who isn't interested but won't tell you. Is it safer to let the woman lead the pace of conversation as she's the one who's bombarded and you're just happy if you get 2 views a day and a couple of winks a month?

Apologies for the waffle but would appreciate a few opinions on this.

the person may be busy or ill have internet problems family problems etc countless reasons why they dont get back to you

Yup appreciate that may be the case on some occasions but a lot of the time it isn't. Ghosting is rife on here whether people like to admit it or not.

We personally see no reason to take conversations off Fab. I (Devil) do not give my mobile number away unless (pre-Covid) a meet has been arranged. I always state the mobile number is for emergencies only, not for random chit-chat/pics/videos.

And as previous posters stated, there is life outside of Fab. What is more, we are currently during national lockdown when meeting random strangers for sex is not allowed. That is probably stopping a lot of people from doing much chatting on here.

If I am interested... as in REALLY interested, and obviously I’ve checked my filters and seen this person is verified/sane, etc- I have been known to give my number for Whatsapp within hours.

If I am not interested, I can drag it for weeks and weeks... depending on how bored I am and obviously they’ll never get my number or alternative way to contact me. I chat to people on here. It is my distraction. An extremely select few will get my number. I don’t really use kik, don’t like it.

Not everyone lives their life on Fab. A few days for a response is reasonable. As for taking chat to a different platform, the person may not want to.

Thanks all, some interesting and conflicting opinions based on various interpretations of what I posted!

Would be interesting to see how these would alter if there weren't so many idiots on here (yes mainly men I know! ) and it was more a 50/50 male/female split.

Oh and this question doesn't just apply to Fab tbh, I'm on the standard dating apps as well and it's applicable there as well.

I've had it where I've been chatting and they go silent, then get a new verification.

That's fine, it would just be nice if people were upfront with you.

Yup agree with that. I do think people often get "a better offer" which is fine, I'm fully aware dudes are a commodity on here. I'd prefer straight and up front about it though, especially when the lady has actually messaged me first (and we all know they're far too busy bulk deleting 500 "fancy a fuck" messages to do that ) which does imply a level of interest.

I often get asked to go on Skype, kik, WhatsApp, snapchat etc to chat but I prefer to keep everything on here. What men don't understand is that I am having conversations with more than one person at a time so using multiple apps isn't feasible.

That's fair enough. Guys obviously don't get the attention that women do on here though so I'm guessing there are very few of us that are involved in multiple simultaneous chats.

I'll admit, after a fair few shall we say "disappointing results" on here I'm losing patience with making an effort. I'm not whining, there's just only so many times you can go to the well etc without it starting to piss you off.

I'm praying things get back to normal next year so I can go back to the old fashioned way of meeting women in pubs etc!

I don't chat on any any other platform. If someone is genuinely interested, they will stick with Fab. Should I actually get to the point of arranging a meet, I will exchange phone numbers.

Everyone is different so you can't really give a time frame. If conversation is flowing well, I don't think it matters if it won't ultimately lead to a meet.

I would add that I don't expect to get messages every day from someone I am getting on well with. They certainly shouldn't expect that from me, as I can go days without looking at my account.

I have a lady who I will be meeting when I can... Covid put things on hold. We keep in touch but is can be weeks between messages. That doesn't mean we are no longer interested.
