"Using a bike is good but walking and jogging are better fat burners.. I did a 4k walk with a back pack today that weighed only 14lbs. If you do that twice a week for 6 weeks and eat right then you will easy lose a stone maybe more ." So walking 2 miles a day carrying a 2 stone baby would shift a stone? Great

I appreciate you are probably trying to do a nice thing here, but I do hope the other advice you are giving in private includes you checking the gender of the person you are advising, their current level of fitness and previous health issues before jumping in and suggesting long walks with a 14lb rucksack.

" Perhaps you could help. I'm a novice strongman (bench 110, overhead 150, deadlift 250kg) and doing my first comp in August, however as I've really increased my calorie intake as well as time spent in the gym lifting weights, I seem to have developed a bit of a belly. Am I perhaps eating too much fat by eating lots of red meat (for the protein) Would I be better substituting lean red meat for lean white meat such as chicken? I also take protein shakes too. " the best protein is raw red meat ....doesnt sound nice but it works a treat!!

"This guy is taking time out of his day to give people advice and encouragement.... No need to get all health and safety..." There's every need to consider people's health and safety when giving them fitness advice. I think the problem here is that people tend (as I'm sure you'll have noticed, OP) to look for easy answers and infallible authority figures when it comes to exercise, just like they do when it comes to diets. That makes people like 'Dr' Gillian McKeith dangerous, and it does the same for bad personal trainers. The OP may or may not be a bad personal trainer, I don't know him so can't comment. However, even if he is a great personal trainer there's every chance that, in this medium, he'll give somebody bad advice. Potentially dangerously bad advice but more likely just the sort of bad advice that will cause them to under-achieve. Sure, some are able to recognise bad advice when it doesn't work and go back to the drawing board but some are not, and it's those people that could stand to lose out here. Also as a side note about qualifications, being a personal trainer is like being a nutritionist. There's no qualification you need and no body you need to be affiliated to. I could call myself a personal trainer if I wanted to. Obviously that doesn't mean all personal trainers are rubbish but it does mean that some probably are. So be careful.

" Although a thumbs up seems wholly inadequate. This thread, and some of the advice offered actually scares me." Some stuff is unbelievable. This guy's other thread includes a link to a video full of exercises to help spot reduce the fat off your love handles. There ain't enough facepalms on the internet some days...

"i posted this thread to help people that struggle with fitness and diet ....the internet is great for looking at new workouts and eatting plans i do it alot with great gains for my clients." That doesn't make it ok to try and pass other people's work off as your own. "i could post diets for everyone to fit there invidiual needs but that would take ages and im doing this for free !" Nobody has asked you to do anything of the sort. "i point people to youtube so they have a visual of what to do as typing each individual workout would keep me here all day and again im doing this for free." Nobody objects to that. However, pointing people to youtube videos that claim to show how to spot reduce love handles is another matter. "If anyone has a problem or issue with what im doing please feel free to jog on lol..." No, it doesn't work like that. This is a public forum and if you're entitled to give out advice then so is everybody else. You seem to think "I'm doing this for free" makes you untouchable but it doesn't. You can't just say whatever the hell you want to people as long as you're not charging them. It doesn't work for Francis Maude, it doesn't work for extremist preachers and it doesn't work for you.

"lol i dont play these games.....after some very sound advice off the nice people who inboxed me i wont be using the forums on fab again.....anyone wanting to message me about fitness or eatting healthy please feel free ....much love x" Well that pretty much speaks for itself as a compelling reason that nobody should take your advice seriously. Let's just hope the more gullible readers (because believe it or not, there are gullible people on the internet) read past the first few posts of the thread...

"hiya, This is a great idea, what qualification would i need to become a personal trainer and what requirements of fitness are needed? Basically what does a being a personal trainer involve you doing? I'm thinking of getting retrained after completing my degree. I'd like to know the best exercises for abs too I have just got back to climbing 3 times a week, and soon be back to gym twice a week (5 days a week total) cycling where possible but abs get neglected so any exercises for those would be great. " if its climbing your main goal, ignore the gym. climbing is a sport where the only way to get better is to climb more......technique is more important than strength

"I'm cycling toooo and from work, in gym twice a week and still not loosing weight, eat alot of fruit, any suggestions? " try interval training short bouts of sprints or high intensity. much better for burning fat than constant level.
