Has anyone had the partner (in this case wife of 10 years) contact you?

I hadn't met this guy and had only been talking a week or so, but wife had gone through his phone and found kik and fab. Messaged me to say he wasn't single as he'd led me to believe......

What would you do now? I'm obviously not going to continue talking with him.

Just apologise to her and explain he had lied and you had only chatted and not met. Then block his number and if she contacts you again on another number block that too.

She wasn't angry with me, more wanted to warn me. She could see from messages that I'd said I was not meeting. What a dick though.

Or maybe it was him bottling a meet and pretending to be his wife, who very kindly spent time letting you know. As if she would lol

It might just be me but I’m finding it hard to know what to believe anymore. There seems to be so many fake, wannabe and people who get pleasure from screwing with your brain on here at the moment.

Had this a few weeks ago the 'ex girlfriend' contacted me

I'd no intention meeting the guy n had only spoken once, she said he'd cheated on her blah blah but afterwards I thought what if she was the freak n not him. Dunno what to believe on here tbh.

Just thank her and leave it there. You have nothing to apologise for. It's their drama

The trick is to accept things at face value. Understand that what you're being told is unlikely to be 100% true but work with what you have. Don't ignore very obvious warning signs and assume that people will present you with version of themselves which they might not present other people with.

Yes, pretty much this. It’s their own problem to solve.

Near Marlborough

I take absolutely everything people tell me with a pinch of salt. Whatever truly happened.. was it her? Was it him? You’ll never know. Block the number and the profile and move on.

"Are you sure it wasn't him pretending to be his wife "

What would be the point? I hadn't agreed to meet and had told him there was a guy I see regularly so wasn't looking for 1 on 1 meets. He'd given me his number but I never spoke with him outside fab or kik.

I'm not bothered by it as in upset or anything as I haven't done anything wrong. Just wondered if this was common place on this site.

It does seem quite common.

I sometimes wonder if people deliberately allow their indiscretions to be discovered to force a since because they're incapable of initiating a conversation on a sensitive subject.

When you think about it it's pretty daft to not cover your tracks by simply deleting conversations

To force a confrontation that should say.

I wish I could force myself to proof read
