Often the biggest gripe on this site is guys getting frustrated by no reply to their messages. For whatever the reason may be.

Rather than having to write countless no thanks replies would it not be possible to just have an automated polite thanks for your message but no thanks button that we can simply click.

So next to the options of reply save delete we can have no thanks.

Would definitely save time and energy typing these messages and hopefully make the messenger feel less ignored

That's a very good idea, alot of other sites have it. Though funnily enough when i clicked on this post i thought it was about you turning down Jenson Button :P

Another site we use has this option....and people start threads complaining that they get an impersonal reply

You can't win really.....so for us it is easier to have a few answers typed into word and copy and paste the relevant ones when answering mails ( we answer when we get a few rather than one at a time )

Not everyone has site support so can't save a message to copy and paste. If keeping it in inbox means can never delete all messages. But time you open up the saved message copy it go back to the message and paste , would be as well replying x

This!

Another site I'm on also sends people a nice message automatically if you contact someone and you're outwith their criteria.

The bitching about being stopped from contacting people not looking for them has to be seen to be believed!

Yeah the wording in pre-set messages is important.

There is that facility on another site I use and I find the wording really patronising.

A non-reply gets the message across just as well to anyone with an ounce of common sense.

This is not 'the real world' it is cyberland.

Rightly or wrongly, behind the security and distance of a cyber connection, people interact in a different manner than they would if an approach was made to them in person.

It does offer the opportunity to ignore people that you couldn't ignore if they approached you in person, so why not use that opportunity ?

I do think on sites like this ignoring someone and being ignorant are two wholly seperate things.

I use another site that lets you input you own message and save it for your auto reply. You can just be a bit more personal with it or you can just say 'you're mingin', feck off!'

I did make a site suggestion a few months ago, to have an auto reply option, where you could send a pre-formatted reply, or one of several pre-formatted replies, which could be edited for that one reply too.

This was due to the large number of people who've complained about not knowing where they stand, or just getting blocked etc.

Unfortunately, at that point, there was limited support for the idea.

I still think it's got great potential, helping to improve member's morale, possibly helping retain people who leave after incessant lack of communication.

Whilst some feel the block option is the answer to their every need, there are others who like to communicate, but the sheer volume of messages can at times mean it's like a full time job. A reply 'no thanks' type button would be an easy, non-time consuming option to satisfy people's desire to know where they stand.

Totally for it!

When I say 'auto reply', I don't mean automatically generated reply, without the user clicking to send it, it would be based on the user clicking to send one of preferably a few message options. Just having one option would be totally great, and an improvement on current functionality.

How about having that button on msg's, have a stock msg Orr-entered but have it so you can personalise it aswell?

Must admit we have stopped declining people politely now. We do, just not reply and the reason is because we got sick of being asked why.

Is it Mr or Mrs that puts you off?

Which one of you doesn't like which one of us?

It's a swinging site it's about fucking not what people look like and you ignorant to think otherwise.

Can you just tell me is it because I am ugly?

I can't believe I have been declined again what do I have to do to be successful on this website, can you help me?

Do you think I am fat?

We had all of them and it started to be not much fun anymore. We would like to be able to say a polite no though because we don't consider ourselves rude.

Even if we had a 'delete + no thanks' option, we'd avoid using it.

I know that sounds rude and ignorant but once you send someone a message they become immune to the message filters (which we use frequently).

We are here to enjoy the site and use the tools as we see fit ...we're not here to keep people happy by telling we aren't interested over and over and over again.

this! If you don't reply, you're not interested! What more is there to say. The number of inadequate, needy people on here is unbelievable.

Have fun, and with 11,000 people on here at times there must be someone who wants to chat to you. Spend your time finding them, not wasting it moaning about not being sent a message saying 'no thank you'. It isn't rude to ignore an unsolicited message! I don't write to Everest Double Glazing saying no thank you when I get their junk mail. A no reply is a no. End of story!

Frankly, if we all also stopped replying to nonsense threads the world would be a better place.

Just incorporate a 'Thankyou for your interest, however we do not wish to persue any further interest or contact at this time.' ...Reply/Block button. This way a polite message is generated and people cannot be barraged with further questions asking for reasons.

To be honest, that sounds quite sensible - I understand women are inundated with messages but sometimes a polite no thanks would be nice - especially when they've messaged or winked at you first - or specifically asked for something you're advertising - however, I'd never bombard someone who didn't reply with rude messages

You'd think so wouldn't you, but sadly it doesn't.

There's a type of person that use these types of sites that believe, by the virtue of being here, they are entitled to a message, meet.

I'm on a site that has that option. You can also personalise the winks, letting the person know you don't like winks, why not drop a line etc. It also sends messages if the person is outwith your criteria etc. It doesn't stop the whining and bitching.

The people that get a non reply is a no and move on are not the problem. It's the cry babies that will still spit their dummies no matter what that are the problem.

I'm not offended by 'no thanks' or a deleted message - I'm offended by rudeness and sometimes baffled when my polite response to a message the women/couple has sent, is subsequently deleted. However, like I've said many times I don't take this site too seriously

I personally wouldn't use the button if it was introduced unless it doubled up as a block - the main reason I don't reply to those I'm not interested in is because I don't want to start a ping pong of messages which goes one of two ways - abuse or guilt tripping/telling me my preferences are wrong and I'm missing out.

Ideas are good but why is it so hard to type a no thanks , if ur on site surely this means u have some free time to come online, however having said that I do feel its more rude to recieve mail that you didnt want or ask for in the first place than it is not to reply to the said mail , think about messages before sending them to folks in the first place and you wont and cant be offended if you dont get a reply .

Just a thought

i think a no thanks button would work

but you need to attached a time out peroid of 1week to 1month to it.

bit like the winks, where you cant wink again for another month, you cant message for another month

that way no thanks works but the user aint blocked but are forced to wait out so cant contact again, but at the same time arnt fully blocked as that was going too far

Why would it be going to far? Why are people obsessed with those who have absolutely no interest in them instead of the ones that might be?

If you're black say, and a profile states NO BLACKS why would you contact for a meet, then get arsey when your message is deleted? Conversely, why would someone think it rude if they didn't reply to someone the polar opposite to what they've clearly stated they want?

Don't get it.

You can't win really.....so for us it is easier to have a few answers typed into word and copy and paste the relevant ones when answering mails ( we answer when we get a few rather than one at a time )"

Jenson Button cant win either, tho I think he'd win over a few women on here, as for the thanx but no thanx button im all for it.It encourages a reply but is final, we often dont do replys they take time when there are loads and sometimes get silly questions as to why not.

We would welcome a 'no thanks' button, but would only use it to reply to those who fit in the criteria stated on our profile. The ones who don't, shouldn't be messaging us anyway so no reply for them I'm afraid, not even an automated one.

I don't see what's wrong with it as an OPTION! You don't have to use it but it would be a site better for the site programmers to do something like that than all the fabbed picture twaddle.

twaddle ?

it makes wanking over pictures far easier

and you can have two - less time spent browsing, more time pumping !

I already have the 'No Thanks' option on my Fab account.....it's commonly known as the 'Delete Button'

"In fact this is the final straw.

Fuck right off you silly bunch of big headed, stupid, common, retarded, single minded, self-obsessed, deluded foul fucking pigs

Also a big fuck you to the black guy with glasses who comments on every thread in order to disagree with it.

"Often the biggest gripe on this site is guys getting frustrated by no reply to their messages. For whatever the reason may be.

Rather than having to write countless no thanks replies would it not be possible to just have an automated polite thanks for your message but no thanks button that we can simply click.

So next to the options of reply save delete we can have no thanks.

Would definitely save time and energy typing these messages and hopefully make the messenger feel less ignored "

i totally agree would be much easier

"i think a no thanks button would work

but you need to attached a time out peroid of 1week to 1month to it.

bit like the winks, where you cant wink again for another month, you cant message for another month

that way no thanks works but the user aint blocked but are forced to wait out so cant contact again, but at the same time arnt fully blocked as that was going too far

Don't get it."

because you dont need a block permantly option as you already have that should you wish to use it, so making another block permantly option would be pointless

Does sound better than being ignored since that feels flat out insulting.
