Can anyone advise the best place to purchase some cute hold up stockings that will fit my chunky size 18 thighs. I don't like stockings and suspenders - too fiddly for me. Recommendations greatly received.

Thank you

Marks and Spencers have only ever been the ones that fit for me. I have long legs and super chunky thighs.

I,ve always liked the ones from love honey. Also snag tights have started doing some that look good. I normally get the tights from snag, so I'm going to get some from them soon as well

I have tried them from Lovehoney, but wasn't a fan if I'm honest. Maybe I'll try again. And I've heard of Snag, but not bought anything from them. I'll take a look.

Thank you x

If you Are wearing with a close fitting dress, before removing!, apply a little hairspray to the outside to stop the dress riding up and bunching.

I was a size 18/20 before I lost weight and understand completely what you mean - having them role down when playing is a pain

Two places I used to buy - on EBay where a seller had good quality ones for plus sizes and on Lovehoney who also sell nice ones.

"Primark just as good "

Primark don't fit me, with their hold ups you can have big thighs or long legs but not both.

But now someone has mentioned snag... I'm all over the mock garters...

I love my snag tights

Sucks doesnt it! Primark would be rubbish for me, I find their tights are rubbish and the sizing g very hit and miss anyway. If I ever find any good ones, I let you know xx

If you want to find some bigger sizes, i use Stockingshq... look in the tall sections and i can recommend glamory range for quality and size.

I can also fit primark hold ups, with the ring tops which are good, although watch the join between the stocking and the top section as it can be weak sometimes.

The big tights company are by far the best hold ups I've ever had!

Ann summers aren't bad for staying up, but they're all so thin they only last a single wear.

These are great - Cottelli Hold-Ups with Striped Tops. You can get them on Lovehoney. Tried many but these actually stay up!

Primark do 2 types of hold ups. 1 with a lace top and then other with a black band. The ones with a black band are fantastic and they do a variety of patterns x

Sparking strawberry have a curvy section. They have stockings and belts in the curvy section. They are good at sizing! 18 means an 18.

Marks & Spencer are fantastic for any hosiery, quality is fantastic. The best tip with hold ups from anywhere is to be sure not to use body lotion before putting them on as it stops the silicon band from holding them up as its supposed to. Also never use fabric softener when washing them as it coats the silicon and makes them slide down regardless what size of thighs you've got. Tesco stockings and hold ups are worth a look at too, I'm almost certain they still do small/medium and medium/large although it's a while since I've been in Tesco as my closest one is the furthest away supermarket from where I live and wellllll with the current virus situation we all find ourselves living with its daft to travel further than necessary for anything x

Snag tights are excellent. But I do

Love the opaque holdups from John Lewis. They literally stay up all day. I’ve worn them to vintage events before where I’ve been on my feet the whole time.

Or wear lace garters.... Not difficult to make or try a local sewing/ alterations place to get them made to your specifications if you're not handy with a sewing machine yourself x
