Wink or message first?

What do you fabbers prefer?

A wink or a message first?

Loads of couples and single women on here say that they're often inundated with mesages.

With that in mind, i'm thinking that a wink might be best first, then the couple or single woman can check out your profile and see if you're their cup of tea before messaging or winking back.

Or do you prefer message?

Either way you're going to check out the profile before deciding to message back.

A well written message is best. We’ll return a wink if we’re interested, however so many don’t follow up with a message! (maybe a lot of accidental winks )

A well written message, fab pics and something different in the subject header. Oh, and Read profile lol, discuss something they mention etc.

Tbh with the volume of messages ladies get its pot luck if you actually have your message read because they get lost in the volume!

Patience is what it takes for me.

An intelligent message that has something on my profile included, first.

But I’d prefer a wink over ‘ u meetin’ or ‘luv to fuk U’

Currently the messages I get around 2am when I finish work.

I really don’t get the snobbery around winks. It’s a quick way for both to say yeah let’s chat which is how we treat it.

Absolutely. I have had plenty of meets that started with me sending or receiving a wink.

A thoughtful message with a face picture if none displayed on your profile.

The reason you're making contact is you are interested in meeting, yes? So have a face picture and physique picture and write something meaningful, not benign.

Galaxy Far Far Away

I've just bulk deleted the 62 winks so far today. To reply to a wink lets say a minute or two to check their profile before messaging or winking back...so let's call that a couple of hours. I get far fewer messages so more practical to answer those.

I love being winked by a Lady.

Does not involve much effort and sends a message.

Just think the amount of mails she has.

I message the Ladies a bespoke mail. Read their profile. Be honest.

Both have led to some great dates and lovely Ladies met.

We always find a wink ha a waste of time if they have no public photos on their profile and a few words of text !

Winks are easier to mass delete without losing messages from friends so wink away though many rarely respond to them.

I go for the wink and then follow up with a message - usually winking at the point where I'm browsing and don't really have much time to put thought into the message, which is v important!

For Guys to single women or couples then it needs to be a message if yo really like the profile.

Single guys just winking are going to have even less luck in the numbers game, unless the female half happens to have spare time to look at the profile and really likes what they see.

I feel like the wink function is underused. In 'real life' interactions I look for some kind of nonverbal 'go ahead' from someone before engaging with them in conversation. Either a wink, or a smile, prolonged eye contact - that kind of thing. And on here I feel the same should apply. Sending someone a message without knowing if they're receptive or not doesn't really feel right to me.

A wink first to let them know I exist and they can have a look if they want, followed up by a message if I think there is compatibility there. However as most single men will tell you, however much time you put into a well crafted and personalized message most of them are ignored and often not even read. That's why sometimes mass winking is easier and generally produces the same results!

We're happy to receive winks. We will check out the profile and message if we want to know more.

The only time it's annoying is when someone winks with no bio and no pics, what on earth are we meant to be checking out?

I don't think it's snobbery to not want winks, I think it's more how you access the site.

The mobile site is a lot easier to see your new winks, as they're right there on the home page when you first log in. If your using the desktop site you have to go hunting for them specifically, hence they're never checked.

I've always liked using them and will continue to wink regardless, but will always follow up with a message where appropriate.
