If you want to meet them, arrange a social meet to start with. Nothing wrong with popping out for a coffee/beer and a chat. The longer you drag it out for, the more ‘fake’ you appear to one another.

Yep. Pre covid this was the quickest best to find out if someone was who they claimed to be.

9 times out of 10 you get a feel for if someone is genuine or not anyway. We always think that if there's the slightest doubt walk away. Don't try to find reasons to believe obvious daft stories of make excuses for other people. Apply the same rules to your internet interactions that you would ask your kids to use.

It is a shame but because of the pure volume of fakes and arm chair swingers' on this site and others it has now become necessary to establish that a profile is genuine before a social meet can be arranged.

I was messaging a guy for a number of days. He said he was single. We talked about meeting. I suggested a day and time. He never got back to me and has now left the site!

We got really good at spotting the catfish here but it's harder to work out if people are actually interested in meeting up.

I'm not sure if people lose the courage when it comes to actually meeting or if people simply like the fantasy but know they won't act on it.

It's draining but the few gems will always keep us going.

men pretending to be women and couples is fairly easy to spot. stick to verified people, follow the verification trail and trust your instinct

people that have no intention of meeting is more difficult particularly with covid as everyone’s risk profile is different and the gvt guidelines are confusing

again trust your instincts. stay localish and offer a socially distanced coffee or drink. nothing to lose apart from an afternoon or evening of your life. a small price to pay for adventure!!
