I've just found a rope that I bought for a girl many years back and the thought occurred to me, rope play for men? Its not something I've seen that much online. Does anyone practiced this or experienced it?

To be fair in the same way there are a load of male riggers wanting to tie female bottoms. There are a load of male bottoms looking for female riggers. In London there was one female lead rope group but I have not heard of others around the UK.

So if can meet someone outside of the fetish scene who aspires to domme and introduce them to rope it may be more productive

In terms of resources although I only tie women I will steal ideas from anywhere and Stephen Niederwieser "Tie Me Up" is the only book I have found dedicated to male bondage and is on Amazon. There was released on a website dedicated to authentic Japanese style rope the following video

Secrets of Shibari: Tying Men by the Japanese female rigger Ibarako.

As a side note I was told that (and I don't know how true it is) contrary to how it is perceived in the west, in Japan women tying men is more popular than men tying women.

Yeah I've seen quite a bit online. Unfortunately I live a little bit out in the sticks so haven't had any luck finding any kinds of groups yet. Might just have to travel a bit.

Like a lot of link/fetish things ropeplay can be non sexual so it doesn't matter who is doing what to who.

Unless it is something specific like having your balls tied up! Even then it could be anyone doing it to you

There are rope classes taught by women and some aimed at women but in my experience it is predominantly a male rope top and female bunny

No matter what the gender of either side, the learning journey and safety aspects are important

In my experience London and home counties have a more diverse split.

Although the largest group is generally male riggers and female models, next is women who tie only women, and a few women who tie men and very few men that tie men.

One peer rope that I attend men wanting to be tied by women are the biggest group. Luckily normally two excellent women riggers attend that event. At another event for a long time women tying only women were the largest group.

Someone mentioned a female-led rope collective further up the thread, but the post seems to have disappeared along with our response to it.

Anyway, in case anyone's interested, the group is called Hitchin' Bitches - they have a web site amd twitter, but you'll have to Google it as posting the link seems to be prohibited...

Just a heads-up, I left the name out (and I assume the others did as well) to avoid the organisers (who I know well) being flooded by messages from the clueless.

It's a fair cop - we didn't know that they aimed to be relatively stealthy.

No harm no foul, HB is meant to be a safe environment for women to learn rope, but given how sexualized bondage is on this site I am sure they do not want men wanting to meet dominant women applying to attend.
