Hi all,

Seeing that so many of us may possibly be in london during the Olympics - I was considering trying to arrange a social.

Possibly a bar in central / east london...

Has anybody had experience of setting up such a gathering - fancy helping spread the word?

Tony

London

East London is the last place we want to be heading during the Olympics.

Central would be better, somewhere like penderels oak in high Holborn is perfect, it is massive and ideal for socials

"East London is the last place we want to be heading during the Olympics."

This. No one remotely local is going to want to be around east london. Anyone there for the games is probably going to be spectating rather than attending a social. Accomodation will be an impossible search. Transport will be horrendous. You want to book a venue in a city you aren't from based on the recomendation of strangers... I could go on but I'm worried I might be coming across negative!

We might be heading to Brighton, may we suggest one there might be more fun?

Rochester

If you are not there for the Olympic's just get out of town!

We're doing the first few days and heading for Studland beach

I suspect a socials turn out would be lousy. Sorry.

South West

We attended a social/party in Brighton before in the Alias hotel in the Marina, more than happy to go that way again. No way we will be going anywhere near the games.
