I’ve tried them years ago with a partner who found condoms made him lose his erection. I couldn’t get on with them at all but everyone is different, I was worried about trying to not get it lost In me, keeping the ringed edge outside Etc .

No, a femidom will also protect against STIs as well as a condom will. Assuming that the penis is inserted into the femidom rather than alongside it into the vagina which from the NHS page seems to be a thing.

I am not on any contraception at all now because Dr says unnecessary and refused my last jab. Never tried these, thought they were out of use, has to be condoms for me

she did not like the feel of them, as a result we used the packet, to see if things would change.

She didn't like it and we went unprotected.

I would suggest you try it and see if they are for you. Things may have changed over the years.
