You can use Tin Eye as well...sometimes one will show a result and the other doesn't

Lots of different ways of doing it but that is the easiest and works well. Has to be done unfortunately with so many fakes

How effective is is? If an image is cropped by even a single row of pixels then to a computer it’s a different image is it not? It’s not likely google is doing an AI analysing of the search image against every other image on the tinterweb, that just wouldn’t be practical?

Tin Eye searches for matching groups of pixels within an image. Of course there are ways around this too and you're never going to catch everything but it's a useful starting point

Not sure about the technical aspects of this but crops are not an issue, sometimes even when the "main" focus is gone or a big part of the image is gone (eg. copping out a face and leaving the body); different sizes&resolution of the same pic show up also. From what I've seen I suspect hue edits may be a challenge for GIS to match up. I've also been very surprised to see that sometimes it can recognise a still taken off a video.

Unsure...I can't use Google image search on my android as I don't run Chrome but you could use tin eye
