Manchester (she/her)

Gullible people copy it from each other. It's meaningless and unenforceable.

The Australian uni reference started as a joke many years ago & propagated like whispers in the dark.

There are options in fab “privacy” to close anyone’s personal pics etc being accessed by external search engines.

For the most part, as stated above - the unauthorised use of images is - probably would be unenforcible.

Water marking pics is a very good way to manage things on an individual level. However we just all need to take care.

Fab Admin do a very good job but discretion & judgement of what & whom we share with is paramount.

Every so often there's a thread about things that put you off in a bio. This is definitely one of those things.

Everyone's photos belong to Sydney University. Get over it

No university has ever asked me for my photos. I think I'll have to leave my cock to science when I die, then they'll have no choice but to photo, handle, measure and dissect it, and preserve it in a jar.

It means they don’t understand t&c’s ....like people on fb uploading all their photos then whining that their photos are on fb.

Agreed - I would say legally if you believe you have some IP in your profile, and some clearly do, you would need to demonstrate you took some measures to stop a 3rd party exploiting it. Watermarks are good as there is case law and sites like iStock use it

I've just added a legal notice to the bottom of my profile. Have a read and tell me what you think...

It’s in the site FAQ and they discourage you from putting it and it doesn’t mean anything anyway.

It just increases site costs and uses everyones data allowance for no reason whatsoever. Perhaps there should be a special site membership category for those who really insist on it

When I rejoined I was going to call myself 'Sydney University' just for click bait

Given that many Fab members are unable to construct a sentence, the blurb does at least fill a few lines for them.

Considering you can now post videos I don’t think the text is really contributing to increased costs particularly but it is a waste of time

a village near Haywards Heath in East Sussex

It irritates me and I see it as a filter. Initially I was amused at how everyone was going to be taking legal action .Let's hope they own their own homes to be able to pay their legal fees .
