The day was like any ordinary Sunday. Emily and I sometimes stayed over on a Saturday night for some drinks and watch either a movie or have a games night. 'yes we should be fine for that, thank you' confirmed Sandra. 'Is there anything else we need to know…… OK brilliant. Well we will see you then around 7.30. Bye.' and with that she hung up. I was intrigued and I continued walking down the stairs.

I turned to Peter.

'so what are you up to today?' I asked.

'well I've got a couple of jobs to do in the garden. Mowing the lawn, trimming the hedges and watering the flowers. Then I might sit down in the afternoon and watch the match if you want to join me.' he said.

I made some breakfast and sat at the table. I had never been in their attic before. Never really had the need to go up their but the way they were talking had made me curious. With Sandra out today, Emily meeting up with friends and Peter busy in the garden I thought about having a look up there.

I made my way upstairs to the attic door. It was a pull cord which dropped from the ceiling. I made my way to our bedroom to look out of our window. It overlooked the garden and sure enough there was Peter pruning towards the back of the garden. I seized my moment. I went back to the door and reached up and pulled the cord. I switched my torch on my phone and looked for a light switch. It was hidden slightly by a table. I turned it on and saw the full room.
