This remindsa me of the time that I was attending a Trade Show in Brighton.

There was a firm that I did business with and was intending to purchase more equipment from. They knew that it was between themselves and a rival company so the Sales Manager invited me to join them at the show.

I'd already done the evaluations and was going to buy from them anyway but when there's a few freebies to be had you don't disclose your cards too early...

During the course of the evening the CEO was constantly taking her on one side and telling her about moving things along.

The CEO said that one of his people would come with us and pay for the cab and he asked Sarah to come back with us.

I didn't know about this at the time and during the course of the norning went to their stand and the CEO was most apologetic about the actions of his staff and said that further action would be taken. I told him that it was due to our late night 'discussions' and her help after I'd had an accident with the lift doors that she's convinced me to buy their equipment instead of someone else's and I hope that she was going to be around so that she could sign the deal...

My signing and insisting it was with her saved her job. At least long enough for her to seek another... (which just happened to be another company I did business with!)
